The next few days went by so fast. But they were some of the most fun days Aaliyah had ever had at Hogwarts. Everyone knew that she and Fred had made up but they hadn't actually told anyone that they were going out with each other. They wanted to see how long it would take them to figure it out. The funny thing is, their behaviour with each other hasn't really changed that much since they entered the relationship, even before they were together the two were always with each other, always walking down hallways side by side Aaliyah always managed to sneak into Freds bed at night, and the two were always cuddling. It really didnt cross anyones mind that anything had changed between the two except for the fact that they had made up from the fight they had been having.
About a week after they had gotten together. George was beginning to get suspicious. Yes, he knew of his brothers crush on their best friend, he had heard Fred talk about it many times, and he also suspected that Aaliyah may have feelings for Fred. He knew the two were close, closer than they were to anyone else in the group. But he had noticed a few things that had changed of the last week. Small things that not everyone would notice.
Like Fred pushing Aaliyahs hair out of her face when they reached Care of Magical Creatures on that windy Wednesday. Or Aaliyah playing with Fred's fingers on top of the table at breakfast, or how Fred would walk Aaliyah to classes he wasnt in and kiss her temple as she walked in the door.
Yes George was getting suspicious but he didn't want to say anything to Fred in case the two weren't together and he made Fred feel awkward about how he and Aaliyah were acting. From George's point of view. He was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Wanting to know what was going on in his twins life, but also not wanting to intrude in it too much.
He decided it was best to try and get some information out of Aaliyah. That way he would be able to find out more about Fred's life and not ask Fred directly. So after potions on Friday, he went looking for his blonde haired best friend.
"Liyah?" He asked sitting down beside her on one of the couches in the common room.
"Yes Captain?" She questioned back, closing her book and turning to George so he knew she was listening.
"Is there anything going on with you and Freddie, you've been acting really weird lately?" He asked and Aaliyah blushed and he knew he was getting somewhere. The two were together, he thought.
"Now Georgie what ever do you mean?" Aaliyah asked in a sarcastic tone before she began uncontrollably giggling.
"No? He didn't actually. Are you guys finally together?" George asked as his jaw hit the floor. He was so happy for his brother. But he was slightly annoyed that he didn't tell him first. Annoyed that he had to figure it out for himself.
"Yes-" Aaliyah started but was immediately pulled into a bear hug by George. "Oh I'm so glad, took you two long enough to be honest" he said as he held her tighter with a huge grin on his face. He truly was happy. The two deserved each other, and with all the pining Fred had done over the last two years about Aaliyah, George was finally glad his brothers dream had come true.
"Shut up Georgie I swear" Aaliyah bit back with a chuckle. George let Aaliyah go just as Fred and Lee walked in the door, laughing about a prank they had just pulled on Filch.
"Hey, congrats Freddie" George said biting back a smile and earned a small smack on the arm from Aaliyah as Lee sat down on his opposite side. Fred sat down beside Aaliyah.
"Congrats on why exactly?' Fred asked
eyeing Aaliyah and George suspiciously.
"On growing a pair of balls" George said with a chuckle and after a second of connecting the dots a huge grin appeared on Lee's face and he began to chuckle as well.
