Fool Me Once (Book One) - Fred Weasley

8. The birthdays ***

"Freddie, George wake up" Aaliyah shouted as she ran into their shared dorm early on the firstnof April. However the two boys weren't in their beds. Something Aaliyah had not expected seeing as it was only quarter to eight in the morning. The boys always sleep later than this. Well George does, Fred usually woke up when ever Aaliyah did.

"Where are you- WHAT THE HELL" she screeched as she was it with two jets if water that came from the boys wands.

"Boys seriously" she asked sarcastically casting a drying charm over herself before dropping the two present bags she had in her hands and turned to the two boys glaring at them while she folded her arms. "Not the scary face" George whispered causing Fred to look at Aaliyah and grin.

"C'mon princess. You cant be mad at us today. Its out birthday" he said with a small pout and puppy dog eyes that melted the young girls heart. "Fine. But no kisses for you today mister." She said seriously and freds face dropped into a pout. "You can't be serious" he whined. "Its my birthday."

"I'm well aware Freddie but you and George pulled a stupid prank on me and now the presents are all wet" she said as Fred walked over to her and pulled her into his arms. "I'm sorry love. Let me make it up to you?" He asked and she looked at him quizzically.

George was trying his hardest not to laugh at the pair. Although the situation wasn't funny. The two definitely were. "Georgie do you want your present?" Aaliyah asked wriggling out of freds grip and grabbing kne of the present bags and walking iver to the younger twin who had a huge grin on his face.

She pulled him into a hug and wished him a happy birthday before handing him the small orange bag.

"Aaliyah is this-" George asked in shock as he looked at the small selection of Zonkos products that he had been eyeing up in the shop but never bought because they cost too much money. "Liyah you didnt have to. Thank you. Thank you so so much" he said pulling her into another hug while tears brimmed his eyes.

"I did have to Captain. Happy birthday. And thank you for being the best best friend ever" she said as she pulled out of the hug and George ran out of the room to show Lee and David what Aaliyah had bought him.

"Do I get my present now?" Fred asked and Aaliyah nodded shyly taking up the second present vag and handing it to Fred. "Its erm- Its not the same as Georgies but I hope you like it" she said looking away from Fred as be opened the bag and his heart went into his mouth.

She had gotten him a book that he could write music into and a few new pics for his guitar. "Princess" Fred whispered as she looked backwards at him with a small frown on her face.

"If- if you want something from Z- Zonkos we can go after school" she said but Fred walked the three steps over to her and pulled her into the tightest hug.

"Merlin princess. That way the best- How did you even think of that?" He asked and she looked at him with a small smile. "Your always writing down little bits of music onto scrap parchment and I noticed you don't have a pic for your guitar and I thought maybe you would need one if you started playing more" she said shyly as Fred beamed down at her.

"I love it princess thank you" he said as she wrapped her arms around hisnneck and pulled him into a small kiss.

"Your welcome" she whispered as they held each others hands and began to walk down towards the Great Hall for breakfast.

Just over a month later it was Aaliyahs fourteenth birthday. Her and Fred were sitting in the Great Hall eating breakfast when an owl landed down in front of Aaliyah with a letter and a pouch that could only contain money.

Aaliyah handed the owl some corn flakes to munch on while she opened the letter from Narissa.

My Dearest Aaliyah,

How are you my dear. I hope your well. Your brother has owled your father and told him that you have gotten yourself a boyfriend. Congratulations sweetheart. I can't believe you didn't tell me yourself. I would have loved to talk about it. And I hope your being safe dear. The last thing your father needs right now is grandchildren, myself as well I might add.

Except I am very sorry to tell you that you will no longer be able to spend the summer at the Manor this year. And your father wants nothing to do with you. He says you have disgraced him. I'm so sorry my dear. But you know your father and Lucius, there is no reasoning with them once they get something into their heads.

I have sent you some galleons for both your summer and your birthday. I hope you have a nice day my dear and that the Weasley boy treats you well. I will try to get you more at some point.

"Well thats probably the worst birthday present I have ever recieved" Aaliyah said. She had tears in her eyes as she passed the letter to Fred at breakfast.

"Hey, princess, it'll all be okay. You can come and stay with us for the summer. Mum wont mind. She always loved it when you stayed." Fred said seriously. He really did hate when Aaliyah was sad. And he hated it even more now because it was her birthday and he wanted her to spend the whole day happy.

"Yeah Freddie, she didn't mind when I stayed for a week or two but a whole summer. That's two months. That's too much to ask of her. And she has all of you aswell to look after. No I can't what if she doesn't like me now, what if she doesn't think that I'm good enough for you and she doesn't want me around. What if-" Aaliyah started but Fred stopped her talking by placing two of his fingers on her lips.

"Breathe princess" he chuckled. He always found it very cute when she was nervous and babbling. "It'll all be okay I promise. And she will love you. She loves that your my girlfriend. Said that it took us long enough to realise. And of course she won't mind you spending the summer. She loves having you around. And Gin is starting Hogwarts this year so you can help her out, pack and pick out clothes and stuff like that." He told her bringing a smile to her face as she looked ip into his Hazel brown eyes.

"Freddie how do you always do this?" She asked and Fred looked at her with a confused frown on his face. " how do I always do what?" He asked and she giggled slightly at his confusion.

"Make me feel better?" She said and the two looked at each other and smiled. Fred was just happy that he had managed to make her smile again. One really should be happy on their birthday.

"I've had alot of practice my princess." He said whilst pulling Aaliyah into a hug and placing a kiss on her temple.

"Oh and hey, I've got something for you. Happy birthday love." He said pulling a small box out of his pocket and placing it onto the palm of her hand with a small smile.

"Bear, you didnt have to, really." Aaliyah said unwrapping the box.

"It's nothing special really. See I couldn't buy you anything so I made it. I hope you like it" he told her. But he looked and sounded nervous. Of course Aaliyah would like it. She would like anything that Fred gave to her. It's him afterall, her love, her Fred. And even if he got her nothing she would probably still care about him just as much.

She opened the box to unveil a necklace. On the necklace was a small circle of metal with an F carved into it. Aaliyah started to tear up and Fred looked down at her sadly. He knew he didn't have a lot of money but he didn't think she would be so upset by his gift.

"Oh, of course you dont like it. It was stupid anyway" he said trying to take it out of her hand but she tightened her hand around the necklace and scared at him quizzingly.

"No Freddie don't. Don't take it. I don't hate it thats where your wrong. I love it. I love it so much. Thank you" she said wrapping her arms around him and pulling him into a hug as she kissed the side of his neck softly.

"Your welcome princess. Happy birthday princess" he said as she handed him the necklace and turned around, pulling her hair to one side, so that he could put it on her.
