38 The New Years Party

'Blue or red?' Aaliyah asked Pansy and Astoria as she held up the two dresses in front of them 'Wear the blue one' Astoria said. 'Im wearing red, so I dont think you would want to match.' Pansy laughed from the other side of the room. 'Dracos going to love that' she told Astoria. 'His girlfriend wearing Gryffindors colours.'

Aaliyah laughed and then looked at Astoria who looked both shocked and sad. 'Dont listen to her Tori. Pansy is just jealous because she cant pull off any colour other than green' Astoria laughed as Pansy threw a pillow at Aaliyahs head. 'Pans dont my makeup' Aaliyah yelled as she started to cackle. 'Should have thought of that before you insulted me' she picked up the pillow from beside her just before Astoria shouted. 

'Girls, really enough. Come on the party started an hour ago and the boys are going to think we abandoned them' she said with a huff. 'Or that were having a threesome' Pansy added as Aaliyah threw her dress on over her head. 'My thoughts exactly' Aaliyah said, taking the two girls hands in her own. 'Might just have to wait until after the party for that' she said and the two girls started laughing as the trio made their way to the Room of Requirement.

'Lee' Aaliyah shouted once she got into the room. 'Where is everyone?' He looked around and started pointing at people. 'Angelina, Alicia, Katie and Amelia are all over there. David and Riv are there with some Ravenclaws. Fred is gone out for a smoke. Blaise and Draco are in that booth. And George is gone to get me and him some drinks, ah here he is now' 

'Thank you my love' Lee said taking the cup of George and giving him a soft kiss. 'And one for you Liyah' George said handing it to me. Aaliyah pulled George into a hug and whispered. 'Did you talk' he just nodded into her shoulder as he took Lees hand and led the three of them over to the booth where Draco and Blaise were. 

'I thought you said that Tori was with you' Draco said concerned. 'She was Dray dont worry' Aaliyah said leaning in to give him a hug. 'She is just gone into the bathroom. With Pansy' she added giving Blaise a hug next. Once she sat down next to Draco, he handed her a cup with a drink in it. 'Butterbeer, dont worry' he told me. 'Ive been keeping an eye on Fred as well while you werent here. He seems good. Sober' he whispered into Aaliyahs ear, pretending to fix her hair. 'Thank you, your the best' Aaliyah told him, taking a sip of her drink. 

'There she is' Aaliyah heard a yell from behind me. 'My princess didnt even come to say hello to me' fred said sitting down on Aaliyahs other side. 'Malfoy' he said, reaching out to shake Dracos hand. 'Weasley' Draco greeted him back, a bit apprehensive but took his hand nonetheless. 

'No greeting for me. Thats fine, just fine. Ill sit here on my own and mope' Blaise said, pretending to cry into Dracos other shoulder. 'Fine, hello Zabini, how wonderful it is to see you' Fred said, his voice thick with sarcasm. 'Was just thinking how lovely it is to see me too. Hello Fred' he said back with a laugh. 

Fred still didnt like the Slytherins too much, but he tolerated Draco for Aaliyah. The rest of them, especially Blaise, not so much. 

'Where the hell have them girls gone to. Its been twenty minutes' Draco said, peering out of the booth to look for Astoria and Pansy. 'Ill go check, maybe they dont know where you are' Fred told him standing up. 'Freddie, you dont have to' Aaliyah said. He only just got here and he was already leaving again. 

'No princess, its okay. Ill be back in a moment. Just going to have a cigarette while im up anyway' he told her. 'Okay Bear' Aaliyah said as he bent down to give her a kiss. 

'Whats up with him?' Lee asked when Fred was out of earshot. 'I dont know noodles, but I swear if he isnt back here by the time the countdown starts im going to freak out.' 

'He will be dont worry Liyah' George told her. 'Its probably just hard for him you know' he added whispering so that Blaise wouldnt hear. 'Yeah, thats probably it. Do you think I should go look for him' Aaliyah asked, getting ready to stand up. 'No darling, probably not. Maybe he just needs to be on his own, you know? Leave this bad year behind and start fresh with you at midnight' Draco said, with  a hopeful smile on his face. 'Fine' she huffed, picking up her drink and taking another sip out of it.
