25. Lee

Fred got out of hospital in the second week of September. He was doing a lot better. He had put on some of the weight that he had lost, and had even started going back quiddich training with George. Aaliyah and Lee tended to go and watch the practices that they had, especially when it was just the two of them and gush to each other about how amazingly handsome their boyfriends were, well Aaliyahs fiancé. Although Aaliyah thinks that that still sounds so weird to say. I'm going to marry Frederick Gideon Weasley and we are going to have a baby, she thought to herself as her and Lee watched Fred and George hit bludgers at each other as they flew around the stadium.

"Aaliyah, can I see the ring again?" Lee asked Aaliyah. Snapping her out of her daze. "Course you can noodle, why what's up?" He looked at her and then at the ring that was on her finger, the one that Fred had made for her. "I'm going to tell you something, but you have to promise not to tell a soul," Lee said looking away from her and Aaliyah nodded and smiled. "Of course, Lee what's wrong?" Lee looked at Aaliyah again and shook his head. "No that's too easy. You would just tell someone. No Liyah, don't look at me like that. Its just that what I'm about to say is really important." Aaliyah nodded to show that she understood what he meant, and then she had an idea. "I'll tell you my secret if you tell me yours." Lees eyes widened and he nodded. Aaliyah gestured for him to go first and he took a deep breath.

"DoyouthinkhewouldmakeoneformebecauseIwanttogiveittoGeorgeasapromisering?" he asked without taking a breath. "Lee, hey breathe. Its okay. Just tell me I promise I wont judge." Aaliyah said taking his hand in hers and rubbing her thumb over the spine of it. He smiled at her before taking a deep breathe, nodding and saying "Do you think he would make one for me because I want to give it to George as a promise ring?" he then looked at Aaliyah, awaiting her answer.

Aaliyah nearly jumped out of her seat in excitement. But contained herself because if she did both of the twins would immediately know something was up. "Of course, he would Lee. And don't be embarrassed, I know that he would love to have played a part that important in yours and George's relationship."

"He actually was the one who got us together Aaliyah" Lee told her with a laugh making Aaliyah's jaw dropped. How had nobody told her about this? "W- What?" was all she managed to say before she turned her body around to face him, as if inviting him to tell her more. "The night before we got together, I went to Fred's room to talk to him. In all honesty, I wanted him to yell at me and tell me I was being stupid and crazy. I went to Fred because I was afraid to go to George." Lee bowed his head and a tear escaped his eye. It was as though he was ashamed of what he was admitting. Aaliyah took his hand back in hers and lifted it to her lips and placed a small kiss on his knuckles. Letting him know that it was all okay.

"Why did you want Fred to yell at you?" Aaliyah asked, because, out of everything she had heard this was the part that had made her the most confused. "Because I thought I was being stupid. I didnt think that he would be into me, you know because I'm not a girl. I didnt realise that George liked boys too. And Liyah you see George he's fucking gorgeous, and look at me. Why would he want to go for me? I'm nothing compared to him. Honestly, I still wonder why he's with me sometimes." He admitted, letting go of Aaliyah's hand so that he could wipe away the tears falling from his eyes.

"That's not true" Aaliyah said with complete confidence. She must have said it a bit to loud because Lee jumped a little in his seat. "You're completely wrong Lee. Not about George being gorgeous, your right he's hot," he playfully smacked Aaliyah's arm smiling, she giggled and continued, "but you are too Lee. You are fucking stunning. You really are one of the best-looking boys in that school. I promise you that. And even if you weren't. You're his best friend. The two of you work so well together its unreal. You two really have the best relationship out of all our friend group." He smiled at this. He knew what Aaliyah was saying was right.
