Fool Me Once (Book One) - Fred Weasley

32. The Dance

'Do you know what McGonagall wants?' Aaliyah asked Riviera. The pair were sitting in their room doing a potions essay for Snape. Riviera shook her head and turned to Aaliyah. 'Godric knows what that woman wants. Honestly, I have too much to worry about.'

'Riv its fine, but we better get going. Were supposed to be in the great hall in five minutes.' Riviera nodded again and the two left the room. 

'The Yule Ball is first and foremost a dance' Minnie was telling the entirety of Gryffindor House as they lined the walls of the Great hall. 

Then she grabbed poor Ronald and dragged him into the middle of the hall. She started to dance with the poor boy and Aaliyah could tell he was nervous. And his brothers didnt make it any better. They were telling Harry how they would never let him live it down and were wolf whistling at them. 

When Minnie had finished dancing with Ronald, she asked each of them to begin dancing. None of the boys moved until Neville and he started dancing with a fifth year that Aaliyah didnt know. Next a few of the seventh years started to dance together, then Alicia grabbed George and Angelina grabbed Lee and dragged them out into the middle of the floor. Honestly, they all looked very cute together. 

After a moment or so of watching, Aaliyah decided that Fred needed to dance too, after all, both of his brothers were. When she grabbed his hand Fred looked at her and shook his head and said 'Princess, you know I dont dance.' Aaliyah just laughed and dragged him over beside Lee and Angelina. 'You may not dance Bear, but I do' she told him, resting her two hands on his shoulders after positioning his on her waist. 

The couple stared to sway with the music and Fred looked down at Aaliyah and smiled. 'What is it Bear?' Aaliyah asked him. Suddenly he twirled her away from him before pulling her back into his chest, closer than before. 'I dont know how I got so lucky' he stated. 

Aaliyah looked up at him and chuckled. 'Neither do I Bear, neither do I.' Fred looked down at Aaliyah and gave her a small peck on my lips. 'I guess were both prett lucky' he stated again. 

'I guess we are' Aaliyah nodded in agreement as they continued to dance.

Later that week a small group of girls fr hogwarts made their way down to Hogsmeade and into the small dress shop. There wasnt usually much of a selection in here, but because of the Yule Ball, they had gotten in loads of extra stock. Aaliyah was talking animatedly with Pansy about what dress colours they wanted, while Astoria and Riviera were engaged in awkward small talk. 

'What are you thinking Riv?' Aaliyah asked her friend, running her hands along one of the many new rows of dresses. 

'Yellow' she stated, 'Plain and yellow. You know I dont like dressing up or dancing. Im honestly just doing this for David.' 

'Okay' Aaliyah said as she nodded at Riviera before turning to Pansy. 'Pans what about you?' She looked as though she was in deep thought before stating 'Green. What other colour for a Slytherin?' she questioned with a laugh. Aaliyah nodded and turned to Astoria.

'Tori love? What about you?' Aaliyah knew the girl was nervous. She was the youngest out of the lot of them, being only in third year. But aaliyah really liked the girl, and the two got on really well, much to Dracos delight. 

'I dont really know' she muttered. 'What about blue?' Pansy questioned. Riviera shook her head and turned to Pansy, 'No, not blue. Katie, Alicia, Amelia and Angelina are going as a group and they are all wearing blue'

'Okay, so not blue?' Astoria questioned and Aaliyah nodded. She then started to look through the dresses and found a black one. Astoria held it up in front of Aaliyah and Aaliyah shook her head, the other two girls had already gone to look for their own dresses, but she had decided to stay and help Astoria out. 'You know Draco will be wearing all black, it would look a bit strange if you were wearing black too Tori.' 

Astoria nodded her head and continued looking. Pulling out a purple dress next. 'What about this one?' she questioned. Aaliyah nodded her head and picked up a red one aswell. 'Try this one too Tori, it would look amazing on you.' Astoria nodded and took the dress off Aaliyah, just before she made it to the dressing room Astoria turned around and called Aaliyah, 'Whats up?' Aaliyah asked when she heard her. 

'Thank you for bringing me' Astoria said. She had a huge smile on her face and honestly she looked so cute, she was so happy. 'I know that Draco probably made you, but it means alot to me all the same' 

'Thats where you are wrong Tori' Aaliyah laughed. 'I asked Draco did you want to come. He didnt make me love dont worry. I actually think your a lovely girl and Draco is lucky to have you.' Astoria smiled slightly as she nodded her thanks and went into the changing room. 

Aaliyah picked up a golden dress and looked at it. 'Gold really isnt your colour Liyah' Pansy said from beside her. 'I know, I just dont know what colour I want. Just not red' Aaliyah said as Pansy looked at her confused. 'Because red would clash with Freddies hair, it would look terrible' Aaliyah answered with a small chuckle and Pansy broke down with laughter. 'Youre right' she said. 

'Found it' Aaliyah heard Riv saying as she left the dressing room. She was wearing a pale yellow dress, but it had a belt on it that added a bit of texture, and the colour looked so amazing with her bronze skin and dark brown hair. 'Thanks perfect Riv' Aaliyah told her and Pansy agreed. 

After a few seconds Astoria left the dressing room wearing the purple dress she had picked out for herself a few moments ago. She looked amazing, but there was something missing. 'I dont think thats the one' Pansy stated from beside Aaliyah who punched her lightly on her arm because of the outwardness of the statement, even though she did agree with her. 'Try the other one Tori' she nodded. 'We will be right here when you get out.' Then Aaliyah turned around to Pansy. 'You got your dress yet?' She asked. 'I think so, I might just try it on to make sure it looks okay. Wait here for me yeah?' Pansy then asked heading into the changing rooms aswell. 

Aaliyah turned around to look at the dresses on the rack just behind her, when one dress in particular caught her eye. It was a light pink dress that was tight on the body but fanned out at the waist. There were hundreds of white flowers littering the dress, mostly on the boddess and it had a sweetheart neckline. I really like this, Aaliyah thought to her self. 

'You have to try that on Liyah' Astoria said from behind me. Aaliyah hadnt noticed that she left the dressing room at all. But Astoria looked amazing. The dress Aaliyah had picked out for her was a red ballgown. Very fancy, and just something that she knew Draco would love. It was perfect, it was sleeveless and it also had a sweetheart neckline. There was minimal detailing on it, but thats what made it suit Astoria so much, it allowed her natural beauty to shine through. 'Merlin Tori' Aaliyah said. 'You have to wear that one' She nodded and thanked her for picking it out as she headed back into the changing room to change out of the dress. 

As Astoria walked back into the changing room, Pansy walked out. Her dress was also amazing, she looked gorgeous. 'Pans' Aaliyah said, looking at her. 'Fucking hell, you look stunning' Pansy chuckled and thanked Aaliyah before doing a little spin so Aaliyah could take in the dress completely. Her dress was a green ball gown. The only dress out of the girls that had sleeves. There was lace detailing all over the bodess and it looked amazing on Pansy. Really, if she didnt buy the dress for herself Aaliyah thought she might just have to buy it for her. 

'Im trying this one on' Aaliyah told Pansy, showing her the pink one she had been admiring when Tori came out. 'Okay then' Pansy said with a small laugh before taking Aaliyahs hand and pulled her into the changing rooms, 'we dont have all day Liyah, I was supposed to meet Blaise an hour ago' Pansy said and Aaliyah laughed and pulled the curtain over the doorway. Quickly Aaliyah pulled off her clothes and stepped into the dress. 

Astoria was right, she thought, this really is the perfect dress. When Aaliyah walked out of the changing room all three girls were already there.

'Merlin Aaliyah' Riviera gasped. 

'Thats definately the one'. Pansy agreed with Riviera nodding her head. 

'Fred is going to faint when he sees you in this.' Astoria told Aaliyah, with a slight chuckle. 

Aaliyah changed back out of the dress and made her way to the till where the girls already were. When they left the shop they all hugged each other goodbye and went off to find their boyfriends, careful not to show them the dresses they would see in two weeks.
