35. The Yule Ball

AN. This chapter has to be dedicated to Aerosmith, Seal and The Pretenders. Also you guys get to witness my very embarrasing love for nineties love songs. The songs are mentioned in the chapter if you would like to listen to them. I picked the songs because I think they suit Fred and Aaliyahs relationship so much, and they are actually from the time they would have been in school.

'Does my hair really look okay?' Ginny asked, pulling more strands out to frame her face at the front. Aaliyah looked at the poor girl and shook her head. 'Gin its fine, but if you pull any more out of the front, Im going to have to start again.' Astoria gasped. 'No, Ginny you look flawless. But please, Liyah can you do my hair next, I can do it'

'Where is my mascara' Aaliyah heard Pansy yell from the bathroom. 'Its on the shelf Pans' Aaliyah shouted back into her, now starting on Astorias hair. 'So just pinned up and curled yeah Tori?' She nodded her head as Aaliyah started to curl her hair with her wand. 

'Can someone please zip me up. Its almost time to leave' Aaliyah turned around and saw Hermoine standing there. Godric her dress looked amazing. Aaliyah sighed 'Gin will you please zip Moine up. Im kind of busy' 

'So am I' Ginny shouted from behind the curtain on the other side of the room. 'Come here Moine, Ill zip it for you' Astoria told her, stretching her hand out infront of her.

After another half hour or so of last minute touch ups and the girls yelling at each other that they needed to leave already, they finally all left the common room, linked arm in arm. 

'The boys are going to faint when they see us' Astoria exclaimed. 

'Well if Blaise doesnt, I might just have to knock him out myself' Pansy said and Aaliyah chuckled. When they got as far as the stairs down to the entrance hall they stood at the top and peered around the corner to see if any of the boys were there already. 

'Theres Neville' Ginny said, pointing down the stairs. She looked back at the group and when they nodded she waved goodbye to all of them and started walking down towards Neville, who looked completely flustered by her appearence. But Aaliyah honestly doesnt blame him, she looked incredible. 

'Draco' Astoria yelled as she ran down the stairs and into Dracos arms. Aaliyah and Pansy laughed at her forwardness but brushed it off, her and Draco were just too cute together. Aaliyah could see him blushing as Astoria hugged him. 

'I think thats my date' Hermoine said from behind us. 'Who is her date?' Pansy whispered into Aaliyahs ear as Hermoine made her way down the stairs. Aaliyah didnt answer Pansy but let out a small chuckle when she saw the look on poor Ronalds face when Hermoine walked up to none other than Viktor Krum and took his arm. 'No way' Pansy exclaimed. 'I always knew she would pull someone great' She continued and the two of them laughed, now peering around the corner to look for Blaise and Fred. 

'Finally' Pansy breathed as the two of them spotted Blaise walk to the bottom of the staircase. 'You going to be okay up here on your own Liyah' Aaliyah nodded to her as she walked down the stairs. 'Ill make Blaise wait at the bottom with me for you and Fred okay?' she asked as she walked. 'Perfect Pans' Aaliyah told her. 'See you in a moment' 

After what felt like an eternity Fred finally appeared at the foot of the stairs. He looked so unbelieveably sexy in his navy suit, and it went so well with the pale pink tie that Aaliyah had given him last night. As he lifted up his right arm to link with Aaliyahs left, she could just make out the bracelet he was wearing, the same one she was wearing on her right wrist. Fred seemed to notice what she was looking at and immediately looked to ensure that Aaliyah was wearing hers. When he saw that she was he grinned and bent down to give her a kiss on the cheek.
