Max was finally moving. This day was feeling like a rebirth. Dustin's, Will's, and Lucas's mothers and Jane's aunt let their children took their cars to help Max with the boxes. Like that, the redhead needed only one ride and didn't have to see again and again Neil and her mother being mad at her. They could be mad as much as they wanted, her decision was made, and she clearly wasn't regretting it. Once all the boxes in the cars, Max went to Jane's car with Beverly. Bev was glad to see Max and Jane being friends, she was sure they had things in common. This war between them was just because they were not knowing each other very well. Now they were sitting in the same car and having a good time. Jane was even smiling, which was rare. Max guided her driver in the town until they reached a parking lot, not far from where she was living. As Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Gary, Gabrielle, Clara, Bev, and Jane were here to help Max, the cars were quickly emptied. They followed the redhead in the streets, entered a building, walked in the courtyard where all the balconies were, took the stairs, stopped at the third floors, and entered the apartment on the left.
On the right of the door, against the wall were the TV on a small piece of furniture and a small bookcase. In the angle was a glass door giving on a balcony on the courtyard. On the right wall was a table, with two chairs facing the wall, then the beginning of a kitchen. There was a recess between the right wall and the front wall, with the rest of the kitchen behind the front wall. On this front wall was the couch with a coffee table in front of it and then a door right in front of the front door. On the left wall were a coat rack and a small table where Max would empty her pockets.
Those who had the boxes for the living-room let them on the couch or on the ground while those who had the boxes for the bedroom opened the door next to the couch and entered the room.
Her desk was on the right angle with her wardrobe next to it. Max put her skateboard under the window on the right wall. Her large bed was in the middle of the room against the front wall with a nightstand at each side. On the left was a door giving on the bathroom. The sink was facing the door with a cupboard above it with a mirror, a bath on the left, the toilet right next to the door on the left, and a piece of furniture on the right.
- "It's a cool apartment," Dustin stated, placing a box on the desk.
- "Thanks. It's not a big place, but it's enough for me," Max smiled.
- "If you feel safe, it's all that matters," Jane said, holding a box.
- "Yeah, you're right. You know you can put that box on my bed, right?"
- "I...wasn't sure."
Max lightly chuckled before taking the box, putting it on her bed, and opening it. The first thing that Jane saw was the bunny-shaped cuddly toy. The brunette gently took it in her hands while Max was a bit stressing.
- "It's a boy or a girl?" Jane asked.
- "Um...what?" Max frowned.
- "My Teddy bear is a boy. I was just wondering if your comforter was a boy or a girl."
- "Uh...a boy. I was expecting you to mock me!"
- "Why would I mock you? I have a comforter too. Bev didn't tell you?"
- "She did. But still, I thought you would use it against me," the redhead said.
- "Comforters are too important. What's his name?"
- "Super-bunny."
- "Cool," Jane smiled. "You like rabbits?"
- "I love rabbits. They are moving balls of softness!"
Jane had an amused smile and nodded before placing again Super-bunny in the box. Max was still learning to know better Jane. A part of her was still waiting for Jane to be a bully again. But maybe Jane being a bully was just a way for her to stay far from people. She didn't know. But, right now, Jane seemed relaxed, like if she was happy to be here. It was pleasant to watch. The brunette was looking around, like if she wanted to see every small detail of the place. Max couldn't hold her smile. She didn't know why, but she wanted to hug her right now. She wouldn't, but she was sure it would have been a good hug. Jane's strong arms must be so soft when they were around someone she was liking.
