Max struggled to wake up. Getting rid of Jane like that let her a bitter taste in her mouth. It wasn't fair, Jane didn't deserve to be treated this way. But it was the deal, right? When Gary was back, Jane had to leave. It sounded better at the beginning. Now she was feeling like a monster. And wearing her tee-shirt wasn't helping. She was about to fall asleep again when she heard knocks at her door. She sighed before deciding to ignore it. Whoever it was, they would leave. But they didn't. They began to hammer the door. They would wake the entire building if they continued! Max grumbled and got out of her bed. She went to her door and brutally opened it.

- "Hi!"

It was Gary, probably the last person Max wanted to see right now. He was smiling, probably very happy and proud about all the cum he had expulsed those weeks.

- "Is that a new tee-shirt?" he asked.

Max looked down at her tee-shirt. She completely forgot she was wearing it. She didn't care. She wasn't owing him anything.

- "How was your trip?" Max asked, without really caring.

- "Great, well, kinda. I missed you and...I realized that an open relationship wasn't my thing."

- "Oh, really!? Maybe it's my thing."

- "...You saw other guys?"

- "No. But I saw a girl."

- "Oh...Well, I can't blame you! I saw many girls too! But they made me realize that the only person I love is you."

Max didn't react. She was obviously touched by his words. But she was still mad for his idea. Because of him, she became closer to Jane and now all her thoughts were for her. Maybe if she was spending all her time with Gary, she would stop thinking about her. Gary took off a chocolate box from his bag and held it out to Max. The redhead took it and reluctantly moved aside to let him in.

- "Do you work today?"

- "No," she sighed.

- "We can spend the day together, what do you think?"

- "Why not."

The boy smiled and opened his arms. Max hesitated but accepted the hug. She always loved Gary's hugs. His strong arms were reassuring. And she had to accept that nothing could have happened with Jane. It was Gary and no one else.

For lunch, the couple decided to eat at the diner. They arrived in the place, holding hands, and sat next to each other to hug and kiss sometimes. Max was feeling like when it was their first days together. He was all cute and complimenting her, telling her she was the most beautiful person of the world, and she needed to hear that.

A few tables farther, two friends were facing each other. Bev was walking Andrew's dog when she saw Jane dead drunk in the grass of the park, some bandages around her hands. The redhead took her here to give her some energy and to be sure she wouldn't do something stupid. The brunette was paled but conscious. Jane was holding tight her glass of coke and staring into space while Bev was nibbling the French fries in front of her.

- "You should eat, you need energy," Bev said.

Jane shook her head to say no.

- "I know you're off-color, but you can't stay like that. Drink some sips of your drink at least."

The brunette rolled her eyes before placing her lips on her straw and drinking a little bit of coke. She felt her stomach burning and preferred stopping before throwing up in front of everyone. Bev petted her dog before taking off a first aid kit from her bag and taking Jane's hands. She unwrapped the bandages and began to clean Jane's wounds. She didn't know what happened to Jane last night, but she was sure the matches began again. Bev was wrapping Jane's hands with new bandages when Gary and Max approached the two friends.

- "Oh, hey! You're back!" Bev stated.

- "Yeah, finally!" the boy chuckled.

- "How are you?"

- "Good good, we're spending the day together, to make up for lost time."

Jane rolled her eyes which amused Bev who pinched her lips together to not laugh.

- "You're still fighting?" Gary asked to Jane.

- "Yeah."

- "Personally, I stopped. I mean, when you do something which is worrying and hurting someone, it's better to think about them instead of ourselves, don't you think?"

- "If you say so. That's why you proposed her to have an open relationship, to be allowed to cheat on her, right?" Jane replied, looking deeply into Gary's eyes.

- "Jane, stop that!" Max intervened.

- "I don't care anyway. It's your decision, not mine! If you wanna be a stupid bitch-"

- "What the fuck is wrong with you!? You're drunk, it's a fact, but it doesn't mean you can be an asshole! What did I do to you!?"

- "Nothing! Okay!? Give me a break! I don't wanna see you right now!"

- "Let's go, Gary. We have other things to do!"

Max took Gary's hand and forced him to follow her out of the diner, giving an angry look to the brunette. Jane knew it was the deal, but she wasn't in the mood to see her with this stupid boy.

- "What was that? Why did you attack Max like that?" Bev asked with an upset tone.

- "For nothing. I'm not in the mood."

- "It doesn't mean Max has to suffer from your bad mood! I thought it was okay between you and her!"

Jane just shrugged. Max was too good for her anyway. It was a lost fight to think she had a chance. And she seemed to be happy with stupid Gary. But it was stronger than her. When she saw her with him, she felt an unpleasant sensation inside her and didn't control her anger toward him. But talking to Max like that was not a smart idea. It was the reason why Jane couldn't be in a relationship. She was born to destroy people, and she couldn't do that to Max.
