Jane got woken up by noises of vomiting. The brunette rubbed her eyes and sat in the bed, looking around. She saw the door of the tiny bathroom opened and decided to check her friend. Mallory was knelt in front of her toilet to evacuate.

- "Did you sleep?" Jane asked.

- "I'm aborting today, so no, I didn't sleep!" Mallory answered with an upset tone.

The brunette didn't insist and went outside to smoke a cigarette. She couldn't imagine Mallory's mind right now. Being pregnant and going to an abortion were too much for Jane. She was glad to not be in her situation.

She finished her cigarette and went back inside. She told Mallory she was going to take Cassandra's car and come back to pick her up. The blonde girl just raised her thumb as an answer. She walked in the streets and arrived at her aunt's workplace. She entered the building and found her in the corridor, cleaning it.

- "Hey," Cassandra smiled. "Here are the keys."

The woman searched her pocket and gave them to her niece.

- "How are you?"

- "I'm...okay," Jane shrugged.

- "You don't wanna tell me why you need the car?"

- "No. It's not about me. I'm just the driver."

- "Okay. Are you coming back home soon?" the woman asked.

- "Yes, maybe in a few days."

- "Cool. Have a good day."

- "You too."

Cassandra kissed her niece's cheek before letting her go. The brunette went to the car and returned to Mallory's building. She parked in the street before joining her friend in her apartment.

- "You're ready?" Jane asked.

- "No...Do you, do you think it's a mistake?"

- "I don't have my word to say. Your opinion is the only opinion that matters right now. It's a hard decision, I understand that, but I'm not up to judge your situation."

- "I'm so lost..."

- "I know. Come on, let's go. We'll be late."

Mallory nodded. Jane wrapped her arm around the blonde girl's shoulders to support her. Once in the car, the atmosphere was tensed. None of them dared to talk, except when Mallory was guiding Jane in the town.

The brunette stopped the car in front of an old house with a messy garden. She frowned. There was no plaque to tell it was a professional place. She frowned at Mallory who was avoiding eyes contact. The blonde girl got out of the car, forcing Jane to do the same. The brunette and the blonde girl followed the path and reached the door where it was written "enter without ringing". Jane opened the door and let Mallory enter before doing the same.

They were in a normal house entrance, facing stairs. They saw an arrow and went to the room on the right. It was a living-room with someone else waiting here. It was a young teenage girl, sitting in the couch. Mallory and Jane sat in the other couch, in front of the teenage girl. The young girl had an angry face and some tears falling on her cheeks.

- "How old are you?" Jane asked.

- "Fourteen," the teen answered.

- "Hard."

- "Yeah..."

- "An accident?"

- "No. Maybe. He didn't ask my opinion."

- "Oh...Sorry to hear that..."

- "It's fine. I'll get rid of it and not hear about my parents ever again after that!"

Jane nodded. She looked at Mallory next to her, but the blonde girl seemed lost in her thoughts with her hands on her belly. It was her third months, the belly was beginning to appear. After a few minutes, the door of the room opened, and a woman, around fifty years old, entered the room with some blood on her apron.

- "You're next," she said, pointing at Mallory.

- "But she was there before us," Jane answered.

- "I don't care. It's your turn. I'll take care of her after you."

The brunette nodded. She stood and helped Mallory to do the same. She could see that Mallory was more than stressing. Her body was shaking, and she couldn't stop crying.

- "Don't worry, I'm here if you need anything," Jane said with a gentle tone.

- "I know," the blonde girl sniffed. "Thank you."

The two girls followed the woman in another room. It seemed to be the kitchen but with a bed. The woman didn't even change the sheet of the bed, there was still blood on it. Jane began to feel dizzy, so she looked at the ceiling, trying to not pass out.

- "Do you have the money?" the woman sharply asked.

- "Uh, yes."

The blonde girl searched her bag and took off an envelope full of bills. Jane frowned, not liking it. She was sure Mallory was giving all her savings to this woman. Mallory took off her jeans and underwear before laying down in the bed while Jane sat next to her and held her hand. The woman finished to count the bills before sitting in front of Mallory. She opened the girl's legs and grabbed a wire. Mallory tightened her hand around Jane's and closed her eyes. Mallory felt the wire touching her lips and quickly reopened her eyes.

- "STOP!" she said with a panicked tone.

- "What?" the woman frowned.

- "She told you to stop!" Jane firmly intervened.

- "I wanna keep it..."

- "It's too late!" the woman continued.

- "Get off your hands of her!"

Jane quickly stood and threatened the woman with her own body.

- "She paid!"

- "She changed her mind!" Jane replied.

- "Jane, help me..."

Mallory raised her arm in direction of the brunette. Jane took it and helped her friend to sit before grabbing her jeans and underwear and helping her to put them on.

- "You can't leave like that!" the woman angrily said.

- "You wanna bet!?" Jane provoked.

Jane grabbed the two bags, placed her arms under Mallory's knees and back, and carried her in her arms. Before leaving the room, Jane took the envelope full of bills and killed the woman with her eyes. She quickly went to her car, placed Mallory inside, and drove away as fast as possible. The blonde girl burst into tears, feeling stupid.

- "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..."

- "Don't be sorry. At least, you know," Jane said.

- "I didn't want to put you in an uncomfortable situation...I'm sorry..."

- "I've been in worse situations. And I would do anything for you."

- "How am I gonne raise it? I'm a prostitute, it's not a life for a kid!"

- "We'll find a way, okay? Maybe...maybe you could find another work?"

- "Oh yeah!? Like if I've never tried!"

- "I know, I know...But we have to try again."

- "It won't work, it was a mistake...I don't win enough money to live correctly on my own!"

- "Hey, hey, calm down," Jane gently cut. "You're not alone in this. We'll help you, okay? If you need a place to stay, our door is always open, okay?"

- "Jane, it's very nice...but I can't accept that, you're already struggling to pay your bills...But thank you."

Jane nodded. She didn't know if it was a good thing or not, but she was sure Mallory would be a good mother. But now Jane felt the need to help her with it. She would have to "work" more to pay for what she would need. She didn't know how she would do that, but she didn't have the choice.
