Jane couldn't stop thinking of that moment in the pool. She had never felt so good in water for a long time. She was already trusting Bev a lot, but something was growing between Max and her, she could feel it. She was lost in her thoughts when her phone rang. It was Cassandra. The woman was probably wondering why she didn't come back home after the afternoon at Bev's. The girl was just not in the mood to have company. She preferred spending the night in the car.

- "Hello?" Jane answered at the phone.

- "Hey, Jane," Cassandra said with a small voice. "Um, I...I'm sorry..."

- "What's wrong?"

- "It's Dany...He didn't pass the night..."

Jane tightened her hand around her phone to not scream and burst into tears. She felt her heart stopping and an awful sensation in her guts, like if there was a fire inside her. She was living that like a failure. They had won. Those fuckers had won. She wouldn't see her brother with his eyes open ever again. She wouldn't hear him tell her stupid jokes to make her laugh. She wouldn't see him doing silly things to distract her from reality. All of this was over.

- "Jane?" Cassandra sniffed on the phone.

But the brunette didn't want to talk to her. She didn't want to hear her cry. She hung up on her before pressing her face to not explode. She was feeling needles jabbing her body. She began to angrily kick her car door to open it before opening it with her hand. Once on her feet, she began to feel dizzy and sick, like if she was drunk but conscious about it. She rubbed her face to not pass out, locked her car, and walked in direction of the backstage door of "The Dirty Men". She burst into the room, startling the girls who had just finished their night. Mallory was there too and ran to her friend, understanding that something happened. She grabbed Jane by her leather jacket and forced her to go out of the building to not have problems with her boss.

- "What's wrong?" Mallory frowned.

- "I'm fine! I'm just angry! I need to...I need to...!"

- "You need to what, Jane!? To punch!? To drink!? To take drugs!? What do you need!?"

- "I don't know! I DON'T KNOW!"

Jane began to punch the dumpsters around her. Mallory grabbed Jane's arms to stop her, but the brunette was struggling too much, so she did a judo hold and flattened Jane on the ground before using her own body to block her friend.

- "Come on, Jane! Express your anger with words! Why are you angry!?" Mallory said, trying to hold Jane.

- "Because!"

- "Because what!? What happened!?"

- "DANY IS DEAD!" Jane yelled. "He is fucking dead...They won...They got us..."

- "Oh no, Jane, I'm so sorry..."

- "I'm alone now..."

Mallory released the pressure on Jane, enabling the brunette to hide her face in her arms to cry. The blonde girl got off Jane and sat next to her, gently caressing her hair. She knew this day would happen. But she wasn't ready for this. It was too painful to see Jane like that.

- "You're not alone, Jane," Mallory sniffed. "You know I'm here for you."

- "For how long!? You'll leave me like Melissa and Medhi did, and you would be right!" Jane cried.

- "I won't leave you! You're my best friend! And I'm sure Medhi and Melissa are regretting what they did."

- "They're not! They must be happier now!"

- "They miss you, Jane. They told me."

- "Oh yeah!? And why did they not text me!? I don't care anyway! They can do what they want!"
