Even if Jane was in a new start, she was still struggling. Her nights were full of nightmares and flashbacks. She was having panic attacks every time it was too dark or too quiet, and sometimes she was stressing to go out of her apartment. Her psychologist told her it was normal to have bad periods like these, so Jane tried to keep living the best she could. As she was alone today, she asked Mallory if she could spend the day with her. The blonde girl was pregnant up to her neck, but she accepted. Spending time with Jane was a good way to relax for her. When she arrived, she directly went to the couch with Jane's help.

- "How are you?" Mallory softly asked.

- "I'm...okay."

- "Okay, and without lying?"

- "I'm...in a bad period. But I'll make it."

- "Of course, you will. You're the strongest person I know."

- "Yeah? I don't know...I guess I survived so many things that I'm not as weak as I thought," Jane said.

- "You've never been weak, Jane. Every time life knocked you down, you still managed to stand up and to fight. If it's not a proof of strength, I don't know what it is!"

Jane weakly smiled and nodded. Mallory was glad that Jane was able to see how strong she was. She was about to ask her something when she felt a strong contraction and something liquid running along her legs.

- "Shit, Jane! My waters have broken!"

- "...What?" the brunette frowned.

- "..."

- "Oh! You're giving birth!" she stated, quickly standing. "Shit! What do I do? What do I do!?"

- "Take me to hospital!"

- "Yes! Okay! Uh, okay! Um...okay! Cassandra let the car! Let's go! Should I take something?"

- "JUST TAKE ME TO HOSPITAL!"

- "Okay!"

Jane helped Mallory to stand and to walk to her car. On the way, Jane called the hospital where her aunt was working to tell them the situation. The brunette tried to reassure the best she could her best friend, but Mallory didn't seem aware of her remarks. Jane wasn't mad, she was more worried to not arrive in time. But, luckily, the hospital wasn't too far. She parked in front of the door, the medical staff waiting for them. Cassandra was part of them. They all helped Mallory to get out of the car and placed her in a wheelchair to go inside.

- "The labor has begun," Cassandra said.

- "It's a good thing, right?" Jane asked.

- "Yes. It means that the baby is coming."

Jane wide opened her eyes and began to stress. She didn't know why she was stressing; she wasn't the father, and she wasn't the one giving birth. But she was scared for Mallory. Sometimes, labors were not completely safe, the mother could die while giving birth. That was how Mallory's mother died. Maybe Mallory would have the same problems. Maybe it was something in the genes.

- "Jane? You there?" Cassandra asked.

- "Yes, yes. Sorry."

- "Do you want to go with her?"

- "Uh...yes, okay."

- "You don't have to."

- "She is my best friend. I have to."

Cassandra prepared Jane and took her with her to Mallory. The place was full of people wearing blue coats, gloves, masks, and plastic caps. Jane was stressing more and began to fidget. Thankfully, Cassandra guided her near Mallory. The blonde girl took Jane's hand to reassure herself.
