Harry's POV
The next morning Harry was long gone before Louis could wake up. He had gotten up at 6 AM and was now on his way to the hotel he had booked for Briana. He was anxious about Louis' reaction and anxious that Freddie wouldn't like staying with them. They had talked over the phone several times and Freddie couldn't wait to spend Christmas and Louis' Birthday with his father. But at the end of the day he was a four year old boy who could change his mind at any given minute.
It had taken a lot already to convince Briana that her son could be with them. But after several secret phonecalls and mostly Freddie's wish and begging to spend it in England, she had finally given in and Harry had booked their flights, the hotel and Briana's flight back.
When he finally parked at the hotel, Harry used the backside entrance to pick Freddie up. He looked at his phone to check the time. 7 AM. On point, exactly as planned. He waited for a few minutes in the lobby until the elevator doors finally swung open and Briana and Freddie walked towards him. As soon as Freddie saw him, he tore away from his mother and started running. Smilingly, Harry hunkered down and caught him.
"Harryyyy!" The blonde boy exclaimed and hugged him tightly.
"Hi Freddie" He picked him up with a grin on his face. "Woah, you've grown!"
Freddie nodded proudly and grinned. Louis' grin - the exact same dimples and features on his face.
"Daddy asleep?"
"Yes, little one. He is" Hopefully.
Finally, Briana caught up with them and hugged him as well."Thank you so much Briana. Louis is going to be so happy" He gave her a smile and looked at her.
"I know.." She ran her fingers through Freddie's hair. "Christmas with your dad? Are you sure?"
"Sure, mommy" The little boy nodded excitedly and Briana sighed before looking at Harry again.
"Well then.. Harry please call me in case he changes his mind or something happens. It's the longest time he's been away from me now- Please just text me sometimes.." She worried. Harry could tell that she was a great mum."Of course. Don't worry. Everything will be fine. I'll text you now and then, I promise"
"You should go before I change my mind" She forced a smile on her face and Freddie hugged her one last time. Harry picked up Freddie's suitcase.
"Love you, mommy"
"I love you too, Freddie. Call me, will you?"
"Pinky promise!" He nodded and took Harry's hand.
Before they headed to the car, Harry turned around and smiled at Briana. "Thank you so much, Briana"
She smiled at him and waved until they reached the car."I missed you, Harry" Freddie hugged him again and Harry smiled.
"I missed you too, little one. And your dad missed you even more"
Freddie giggled. "He'll be so happy"
"He will be" Harry agreed and helped him into the seat he had bought for him. Suddenly all of the fears and anxieties were gone. Freddie was a little sunshine. He had worried about too many things.Harry got in the car as well and started driving back home.
"So, tell me about your flight, was it good?" He asked and looked at the blonde for a brief moment.
"Yeah!" Harry listened attentively while Freddie talked the whole ride, nearly never shutting up - just like his dad. But Harry didn't complain. He was happy.
As soon as they could see the house, Freddie grinned even more. They talked their plan through for a second time and Harry pulled into the driveway and parked the car in the garage."Are you sure you want to hide in the box right away? Don't you want to say hello to your aunties?
"Noo! Suprise 'em!" He grinned and high-fived Harry again.
"Fine. But if you want to get out just-" The boy cut him off. "Just get out. Got it, Harry"
Harry chuckled and patted his head before exciting the car. He had already prepared the box, even put a juice box and cookies inside. It was big enough for Freddie to sit in, if he wanted even to lay in. The boy jumped out of the car and Harry helped him inside the box.
