Harry's POV

The blue eyes met his green ones. Louis' eyes were still filled with tears as he hold on to Harry.
"He..forced you to leave me?" Harry's voice broke. He didn't understand, the news was overwhelming to him. It was too much too take.
Louis nodded. "I am so so sorry, Harry.."
Harry looked away. "Why- why didn't you tell me? We could've- We- why did you do this to me..?" His voice didn't sound as determined, as secure as he wanted. It was raspy and quiet.
"The only way I saw to protect you was not to let you know anything.. You wouldn't have let me do it. But you couldn't do anything- He would've forced you too. I'm sorry.. Harry please.." He took his hand and Harry looked down at their hands.
"All this time I thought you didn't love me. I thought you loved her- I asked myself what I did wrong. All this time you let me live in that pain..!" Harry looked at Louis and this time the tears were visible in his green eyes. His heart ached.
"I wanted to tell you. But I was so scared.. I'm sorry.."
"I'm sorry too."
Harry let go of Louis hand and looked away but he couldn't force himself to let him go. He would never push him away.

Without saying anything, they sat on the bed. Louis' head still rested on Harry's shoulder. He didn't do anything about it. He just thought about what Louis had told him. Anger filled his body. Everyone who knew Harry knew that he was no one to be angry. He forgave people as fast as someone could say sorry. But he was unstoppably angry now. He looked at Louis and noticed that he had fallen asleep again. He looked calm and content. Harry ran his fingers through the sleeping man's hair. He didn't even have to think about his feelings towards him. He was deeply and undeniably in love with Louis William Tomlinson.

Louis' POV

When Louis woke up, he was covered in a blanket and sunlight was touching his face. His eyes were swollen and all of the sudden he remembered the last night. Louis sat up and looked around but the room was empty, Harry wasn't there. Louis started panicking. What if Harry had left because he hated him? What if he didn't speak a word with him ever again? What if he didn't love Louis anymore?
Suddenly he saw a note on the table besides his bed. He took it and read it: I'm at the gym. Meet you at breakfast. - H.

He exhaled facilitated and looked at the time. It was shortly after 8 AM. Louis wasn't hungry so he decided to take a shower and look after Harry afterwards. He needed to see him.

A few minutes later he dried his hair and got dressed. He took the keycard Harry had left next to the note and left the room making his way to the gym.
When he arrived, he saw that the door wasn't fully closed. Louis could hear beats. There was music but there was also a loud beating noise. He opened the door silently and looked inside.
Harry was on his own. He was standing in front of a huge punching bag and he was battering it. Louis could see that he was angry. Harry was never angry. He bit his lip and slowly walked into the room. Harry was standing there with no shirt. The music was loud so Louis could walk right up to him without him noticing. He watched him boxing for a little while.
His body was covered in sweat what made him even look more attractive to Louis. His tattoos where shimmering as he hit the bag. He didn't want to see him that angry anymore. Harry was no one to be angry.

"Harry..?" He asked carefully.
The curlyhead turned around and looked at him in suprise. The anger disappeared from his face. "Louis?"
"How long have you been here?" Louis asked, leaning against the wall.
Harry calmed down, he didn't look angry anymore from one second to another.
"A few hours maybe..?"
"Should I leave..?" Please say no, please say no, Louis begged in his thoughts.
The green eyes looked at him. "No, Louis. You left often enough"
Louis looked at him in sadness. "And I'm tired of it. I don't wanna run away anymore"
"Then don't do it again" Harry took his towel and dried his sweaty face.
"I won't. I promise"
Harry smiled at him in sadness. "You promised it years ago" It was just a whisper but Louis could hear it clearly. It was true but hearing it made him only feel sadder. "This time I won't let anything or anyone come in between us"
Harry nodded.
"Please, Harry. Believe me. I won't- I won't hurt you ever again"
"How can I believe you Louis? How? I wish I could. But I cannot. I went through hell these last years and you didn't even tell me the truth. I memorized every single one of the words you said to me. You said I couldn't make you happy. You told me we had no future. You made me fell that I wasn't good enough-.."
Louis went up to him and stood in front of him, placing his hand on Harry's cheek. "I know. And I still hate myself for saying those things. But I needed you to believe me. I needed you to really think it was over. Simon- he would've ruined your career."
"Louis, don't you understand? You didn't even give me the chance to choose! Why do you think I would've chosen my career over you?"
"I knew that you wouldn't. But I couldn't let you give up what you love. I knew you would be strong enough to survive this. To overcome this, overcome me. You've grown so much Harry. I would do things differently now looking back. But I don't regret my decision of protecting you. I would always do anything to protect you"
"What about you, Lou? Who's gonna protect you? You didn't give me a chance to do that"
Harry looked at him in desperation.
"I can't change what I did. I just know that all I want is you to forgive me, Haz.."
"I already forgave you, Lou. But I don't forget. I need time- I- I need to think"
Louis nodded and gently stroke Harry's cheek. "You have all the time you need. I'll wait. I'll be here"
He looked down at Louis and Louis' blue eyes looked back in his green eyes, then looked down at his lips. They got closer and closer.

Suddenly the door opened and Louis quickly pulled away. Liam appeared wearing his sports wear. "There you are! Hurry if you want breakfast or Niall will eat it all" He smiled and didn't notice what he had interrupted.
"Great idea, Li. On our way" Harry said with an undertone in his voice. Harry took his stuff and left, followed by Louis who looked at Liam with a death threat in his eyes. Liam just looked back at him confused. Louis rolled his eyes and closed the door behind them.

They walked in silence next to each other until Harry suddenly broke the silence. "It's not gonna change, is it?"
"What?" This time Louis was confused.
"The hiding. The panic in your eyes when Liam just came in. That's the same as years ago"
They stopped.
"Haz, I will fight for this. I will fight for us. But right now I can't do anything. My contract with Modest! and Syco.. I can't risk anything"
Louis could see the disappointment in Harry's eyes as he shook his head. "And that's the problem, Louis. You cannot be true to me when all you do is doing what Simon wants you to do. How is this supposed to work? Eleanor gets you on the weekends, I get the rest of the week?" Harry smiled in a sarcastic way. "I can't do that Louis. I can't see you with her. I can't stand that. You know me- you know how I hate seeing you with somebody else"
"It's not gonna be forever, Harry. It's only for a short amount of time. I want to leave Syco and Modest! but I depend on them. I need time. Please don't leave me. I will change everything, I promise"
"Leave you? You left me, Louis! And I can't loose you again. I cannot"
"You won't! Harry I can't live without you. I'm gonna stand by you and I always will"
"Prove it. I can't trust you. I- I need safety"
Louis took Harry's hand. "I will prove it"
