Harry's POV

"Louis?"
"Sure Louis. Nobody else makes me feel that way and I- I'm so tired. I don't know how to survive this, Jeff.."
"Have you written another song yet?"
"Sure.."
"Sing it for me"
"I can't it's-"
"You can. It's just me. Singing and writing is your way of communicating. Of conquering hard times. Please"

Harry had sung 'Falling' for him too at a point where he didn't want to release it.
It took him very much to sit at the piano in the corner and play the new song. This time he was sure he would never release it. That's not something the public would ever get to hear. It made him vulnerable, too vulnerable. It made him look weak.
As he played the song, he remembered everything Louis had said and done to him. Every way he had hurt him. Again tears ran down his cheeks. He didn't even want to count how much he had cried the last few days. He felt pathetic for crying but he knew that he didn't need to feel ashamed. It had taken him months of therapy to accept himself crying.

Two weeks later - 2.5 months before the tour
Louis' POV

Dressed up, Louis stood next to Zayn and Liam on set. They were about to do the Carpool Karaoke with James Corden. Niall stood next to them at the buffet.
They were exactly on time but neither Harry nor James were there yet.

Louis could hear him laugh before he had seen him. A shiver went through his body.
A few seconds later, Harry and James made their way to them talking excitedly. Louis bit his bottom lip as he saw him, looking flawless as always.
"Guyyyys!" James grinned when he saw the four men standing there. He welcomed each of them with a handshake and went on with explaining what would happen. The director had joined him and added a few things.

"So there's no script. Just what you guys come up with. The only thing that will be scripted is how you guys join James. He will call Louis, asking him to join him on his way to work and after one solo song - as said before it will be 'Just Hold On' - Louis will interrupt singing 'History' and you guys will join them. And of course the break is scripted too. Alright?"

They nodded and quickly looked at the list of songs they would sing again. They had received the track list before but they just wanted to make sure they knew every detail. First they'd sing a song of each one's solo albums. Then there would be three One Direction songs. It would be the longest Carpool Karaoke - about 30 minutes duration.

"Ready guys?" The director looked at them and Niall answered enthusiastically "Hell yes!" what caused smiles by the other lads.

They waited until James had filmed the scene in the car and Louis got in first.
"Thanks man for joining me"
"No problem, James"
James started driving.
"Sooo, Louis. Quite a long time since you've been sitting right behind me. How are you doing?"
"Great, thanks mate!"

They had a little smalltalk while driving. "You'd mind if we listen to some music?"
"Never"
He grinned at James who turned on the radio and 'Just Hold On' came up. They sung along and he moved to the beat.
When the music stopped, James began to talk about Louis' album but went on to talk about old One Direction times.
"Let's listen to one of your older songs, alright?" Louis smiled and nodded and James started the 'History' chorus.

Minibars, expensive cars, hotel rooms and new tattoos

As planned, Louis turned down the radio.
"James, this doesn't feel right. I just feel like- I feel like there's something missing. Wait a minute"
They gave the sign and the other boys got in. Louis turned on the music again and they all sung the rest of the song.

Louis grinned at James who acted surprised as the four other boys patted his shoulder.
"Wait- does this mean- YOU'RE BACK?"
They grinned at him and Harry said
"Oh yeah we are"
"But if you don't want that, we'll just leave"
With sass Louis turned to the door.
"Tomlinson you stay exactly where you are. I won't to let you go!"
They chatted and made a few jokes but Louis couldn't focus because Harry was sitting right behind him. Louis could hear everything he said, every giggle and every sigh. He even could smell his aftershave that he loved so much.
