Harry's POV

Silence was what followed the day after the Grammy's. And the day after that day. And the following days. While Louis, Liam, Zayn, Niall and Harry were spending the time together in one of their hotel rooms, neither Simon nor Modest! contacted any of them. Three days before their show in Toronto, and after not having received any information, they decided to call the management. Liam dialled the number and placed the phone on the coffee table in front of them. The phone rang several times and no one picked up. That had never happened before. No matter what they had done, Modest! had always contacted them.

"What do we do now?" Harry looked around at the other four men, looking at clueless faces.
"I have absolutely no idea" Liam stated and sighed. "That's never happened before"
"Sorry, lads.." Louis mumbled and looked at Harry, their eyes meeting. Harry felt guilty immediately. If they hadn't come out that way, maybe there would've been another way? Without risking their future as a band? Despite all they had said about not needing One Direction - it meant so much to all of them and they never would've thought that Modest! would cut them off.

"You have absolutely nothing to be sorry about. What you did at the Grammy's shouldn't be a reason for them to cut us off" Liam shook his head, Niall and Zayn agreeing.
"Let's just wait. Maybe they'll call us tomorrow" Harry looked at Zayn and nodded.
"Yeah, let's just wait" They sat in silence and Harry felt Louis grabbing his hand slowly, their fingers intertwined with each others'. He looked at him, a little smile on his face as his thumb stroke over the back of Harry's hand.
"It was my fault" Niall suddenly broke the silence. "You read the article. He's got a broken nose and a broken jawbone"
"Apparently from falling of a bike" Zayn couldn't help but chuckle and Harry had to grin as well.
"You did nothing wrong, Niall. At least nothing that he didn't deserve" Liam added and patted Niall's back. "Let's just wait"

"How's little Khai, Z?" Liam tried to lift the mood, putting a big smile on Zayn's face.
"She's gorgeous. She looks so much like Gigi, it's incredible" And so he rambled about his daughter for the next minutes, making all of them smile.
Harry listened, his hand still holding Louis' and a smile on his face. That was when his phone rang. Zayn stopped talking and everyone looked at him as he took out his phone. "It's not them, it's Jeff. I'll be back"
With that, he left the room and picked up his phone.

"Jeeeff. How are you?"
"I'm good, Harry. Thank you. How are you? Finally realising what happened?" He could hear the man's smile as he chuckled.
"A little. It's not real to me yet."
"Well it is to me. You've got more requests for interviews than ever. I figured you don't want to do them while touring? So I just pushed them back. Is that fine with you?"
"I don't even know if I'll be touring the next weeks" He admitted, scratching his neck.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, we haven't heard anything yet. Neither Simon nor anyone else has reached out and told us anything. And the show is supposed to be in a few days!"

Silence followed. Jeff didn't say anything for a few seconds.
"Did you try calling them?"
"We did. They don't pick up" Harry sighed. "We said we'd just wait a few more hours"
"Sounds good. Maybe they're still processing and discussing the news. You know Modest!, Harry" Jeff thought aloud.
"I know, I know. It's just- The fans deserve to know something"
"And they will. Remember it's Modest! who make the most money from this tour" He argued and Harry nodded.
"Hm, you're right"
"I'm always right" Jeff chuckled and Harry coughed, making him laugh.
"Shut it, Styles. There's another thing we need to talk about"
"That being..?" Harry leaned against the sink.
"Matthew Benston"
"Who?" He frowned, not recognising the name.
"The boy who broke into Jofferey Lang's office?"
Oh. Harry bit his lip. That rang several bells. "What about him?"
"The police had to let him go, but the process is still ongoing. I could make a deal with his lawyer though. That boy can't even afford a good lawyer- So, he's willing to let you talk to the boy. As soon as you're back in London"
Harry nodded, knowing that Jeff wouldn't see that. "Thank you"
"Nothing to thank me for. I'll head out now. I've got to kick the Sun's new editor's ass. She just published an article about you and Taylor being together for a few months. That woman-"
Harry couldn't help but laugh. "Do what you have to do, Jeff. Seems like your problem"
"Actually it's yours, Styles"
"But I pay you to solve it"
"True. I've got to go. Stop thinking so much about it" Jeff warned and Harry sighed.
"I'll try. Bye Jeff"
"Bye Harry" He placed the phone near the sink and looked at the door that was opened quietly. It was Louis stepping in.
