AN: I don't think I have to put it here, but just in case, this is NOT a ship fic for Tubbo, Ranboo, or Tommy.
Thanks for 9.5k reads! Have some fluff :]

Tommy snuck into the greenhouse quietly. The only noises to greet him in this forgotten part of school were the fan running in the background and the water dribbling through the watering systems. There weren't very many people who ventured here, Tommy included.

He took a deep breath and felt everything melt away. All his worries from the day seemed to disappear as he wandered through the greenhouse. It felt freeing, like shedding a heavy winter coat and stepping into a warm spring day.

Towering shelves of succulents and rich, green plants surrounded him. The tangy scent of dirt and life filled his nose. He stroked a leaf with his finger and admired the texture. Lost in thought, he stopped to smell the vibrant flowers blooming on some of the plants.

"Pincushion flower," he muttered, pointing to Tubbo's favorite flower. He watched a bee lazily float above the flower; the bees loved pincushion flowers. That was why it was Tubbo's favorite.

He ambled deeper into the greenhouse and found the beehive. Tubbo had somehow managed to convince the bees to create a natural hive, and he kept them alive in an enclosed space which, according to Tubbo, was quite difficult.

Tommy kept his distance from the bees. He had learned his lesson the first time he had visited the hive with Tubbo. Tubbo seemed to have the magic touch. Bees floated passively around him while they angrily droned around Tommy. One had even dared to sting him. Tubbo told them off, but they never stopped seeing him as a threat.

A buzzing noise sent Tommy's mind back into the present. The bees started investigating him, so he returned to checking on the flowers. "Roses," he said to himself. He smiled; roses were his favorite flower. He knew Tubbo had something to do with that. He hummed as he felt the soft petals under his fingers.

Someone cleared their throat behind him. "Did you need something?" Ranboo asked, jarring Tommy from his thoughts. He jumped before playing it off as a nod to the taller boy.

His relaxed stance quickly changed to a more awkward one in the presence of Ranboo, who he rarely found himself talking to even though Ranboo was Tubbo's other best friend. The two always ended up talking about their plants, and no matter how hard Tommy tried, he couldn't follow their conversations. That didn't stop him from trying, however, which was why he knew so much about the greenhouse.

"Nothing. Nothing! Tubbo wanted me to check on his bees and plants. He's sick today, and you know how he is," Tommy trailed off.

"Oh," Ranboo said. "Of course, of course." They fell into an awkward silence as neither one knew what else to say. "Well, the gardening club is always open to new members."

"No," Tommy started to say. He stopped himself, remembering how calming the greenhouse had been before he realized Ranboo was there with him. He wouldn't mind being in the greenhouse more often, even if it meant talking to Ranboo more often. "Actually, sure."

"Really?" Ranboo looked at him, surprised. Tommy nodded, and Ranboo smiled at him. "What do you want to grow?"

"Roses," he answered after a split second. "Foxgloves, sunflowers, and cornflowers." He listed his family's favorite flowers on his fingers. Ranboo nodded as he listed them.

"I think we've got seeds for those in the back if you want to get them started. I can help. If you want me to, that is." Ranboo led him to the back room, an even quieter place than the rest of the greenhouse.

Pots, trowels, and watering cans littered the shelves, and seed packets were scattered everywhere. Ranboo handed him a pot and pointed him to the direction of the soil. Tommy got on his knees in front of the bag and carefully filled up his pot. Ranboo then helped him place a single rose seed gently into the pot and water it.

"Let's find you a place for this, and then we can look for the rest of the seeds you want." Ranboo helped Tommy up and walked him back to the plant shelves. "How about here?" Tommy looked up at the spot Ranboo had chosen; it seemed he had forgotten their height difference.

"Can you-" Tommy gestured with his free hand.

"Oh, yeah." Ranboo took the pot from him and placed it on the shelf. It stood out among the thriving plants, but that only made Tommy more excited for his plant to grow.

"Thanks." Tommy smiled at Ranboo. They stood in a more comfortable silence until Ranboo clapped the dirt off of his hands. Tommy did the same after a minute.

"Are you ready to plant the others?" A buzz rang out, and Tommy looked for the bee making the noise. Ranboo laughed at him. "I think it's your phone."

"Right," Tommy said, pulling out his phone to see who was calling him. It was Phil. "I guess it's time for me to go. See you later, Ranboo."

"See you, Tommy. And tell Tubbo I said hi and to get better soon. I'll help take care of his plants and bees until he gets back." Ranboo turned back to the plants. He picked a rose and handed it to Tommy.

"Yeah. Thanks, Ranboo." Tommy grabbed the rose. The taller boy waved at him, and he stepped out of the greenhouse, already missing the peacefulness. He swung his bag into his back and headed out of school.

A car honked at him, and he perked up. Smiling, he sprinted to his dad's car. He threw his bag in the back and slid into the front seat. "You're in a good mood," Phil commented as they pulled out of the parking lot.

"I checked on Tubbo's plants for him and talked to Ranboo. He helped me plant some roses. The greenhouse is actually really peaceful." He held the rose in his hand. Tommy stared out the window, bobbing his head to the music and smiling to himself. "That reminds me, I need some foxglove seeds, sunflower seeds, and cornflower seeds."
