Shooting

You, Bailey, and Jackson arrive to Mary's room. Bailey tells you and Jackson to deliver the labs and bring them right back. You take Mary's blood sample and you and Jackson walk to the lab while talking. "How do you like the new house?" you ask Jackson. "It's alright, I guess." Jackson says. You and Jackson get to the lab. "Rush these please." you say. You and Jackson talk while waiting for the labs. Out of the corner of your eye you see Alex. You pretend you don't see him and you grab the labs. "I'll race you." you say. You start running back to Mary's room. Jackson then runs behind you.

While your running you get a page. You then stop running and realize it's serious. Jackson then passes you and realize you stop. "What's wrong y/n?" Jackson says while walking towards you. "We are on lockdown.." you say. "We have to get back to Dr. Bailey." You and Jackson start running as fast as you can to Mary and Dr.Bailey. You and Jackson cut through the lobby where there's a whole bunch of people. "Sir you can not leave the area." The nurse says. Gunshots then fire. Everyone drops to the ground as the man runs up the stairs. You give the labs to Jackson. "Get these to bailey ima help out the people here." you say. You then crawl over to Lexie touching the dead nurse. Mark then picks Lexie up and they go to the elevator. The elevator opens and they see Alex bleeding out. "Y/N-" Lexie tries to say. "You can't tell her not yet." Mark says. Mark and Lexie get in the elevator.

You feel for the nurses pulse. "Oh god. She's dead." you say. You then look around to see no one is there. You get up and start running around looking for people until you see the chiefs. "Y/N! Everyone was told not to leave their area." The chief says. He then grabs your arm and puts you in a storage closet. "Stay there. Do not move." He says while closing the door. You sit there for a good 30 minutes when you hear footsteps. You peak to see who it is and it's the shooter. You freeze up and then he sees you hiding in the closet. He walks in and shuts the door. He then points the gun at you and your life flashes before your eyes.

"Are you a surgeon?" Gary Clark (the shooter.) says. He then moves the gun closer to my head. "I SAID ARE YOU A SURGEON!" he yells at me. "N-no sir." you say while stuttering. He presses the gun so hard on your hand that you can feel the heat. He then removes it. "I'm sorry." Gary says and then he leaves.  You fall on the floor and start crying. After getting yourself together you look back out in the hall. You see the close is clear but as soon as you walk out you hear a gunshot. You drop back to the ground and cover your head.

You hear Meredith screaming, footsteps running, and guards yelling. You slowly get up to see Derek laying on the ground bleeding and Meredith running towards him. You run to Meredith and Cristina. "No derek!" Meredith yells. You call 911. "SOMEONE SHOT DEREK SHEPHERD!" you yell. You then run to find a wheelchair. You help Meredith and Cristina get Derek in the wheelchair and then roll him over. Cristina pushes the wheelchair fast to an empty OR. "Y/n go find surgical staff now!" Cristina yells. You look in the hallway to see if anyone is in the hallway. You see no one so you walk out. The OR door across the hall opens and it makes you jump. "Hey Bohkee, is there a surgical staff in that OR?" you say. Bohkee nods. "Okay can you quietly tell everyone to come to the OR across the hall. It's emergent." you say.

A few minutes go by and everyone from the other or is in the OR with Derek. They put him under anesthesia. You sit on the floor next to Meredith and April while Cristina starts the surgery. You then get up to see what they are doing. You see the gunman pointing a gun at Cristina head. You grab a mask and put it on. "Stop fixing him!" Gary says. The scrub nurse then whispers for Cristina to trust her. She secretly unlooses the monitors to Dereks heart. "Look he's dead. No heartbeat." Cristina says while crying. Gary then looks around and leaves the OR. The scrub nurse puts the monitors back on and they continue the surgery.

You stay in the OR with Meredith, April, and Cristina.

Outsides POV;

"Where's y/n?" Arizona asks to Jackson. "She's not out here? She stayed back to help but she should be out now." Jackson says. Bailey then runs to Jackson. "Where's Johnson?" Bailey asks Jackson. "I don't know she wanted to stay in there!" Jackson yells. Arizona starts hyperventilating. Bailey then runs Arizona on the back as she helps her sit down.

Back to your POV:

After Cristina finishes the surgery we get the all clear to leave the hospital. You help roll Derek on the gurney out the hospital. Once you get out you let go of the gurney as they take him to the ambulance. You look around for Arizona. You see her and start running towards her. She then makes eye contact with you and starts running toward you too. You jump in Arizona's arms and wrap your hands around her. "I was so scared.." you say while crying. You then get off Arizona and give her a kiss. After the kiss you hug her back tightly. You both start crying. In the background you hear something slam like a gunshot and you drop to the ground. "Y/n, are you okay?" Arizona say. "Um yea." You say while getting back up.

"I'm fine." you say. "I um, have to get Derek back to the other hospital." you say. You then run to the ambulance where they are taking Derek and you get in the back with him. Arizona watches as the ambulance take off. She then goes to Bailey. "Bailey." Arizona says. "I think y/n is gonna have ptsd.." Arizona says. Arizona and bailey then sit down and talk about you.

When you get to the hospital where they are gonna keep Derek you walk around. You see Lexie and Mark looking in a room. You walk over to them and see who's in the room. "Alex?" you say. "Y/n, I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier." Lexie says as she tries to touch your shoulder. You move away from Lexie and then go into Alex hospital room. You sit on the chair and you grab his hand. You lay your head on the edge of the bed. A hour later you hear running into Alex's room. "Alex!" Izzie says while crying. She just cuts through your arm and kisses Alex on the face.

You let go of his hand and leave. You then catch a ride in an ambulance back to Seattle Grace. You look around to see no one there. You walk into the hospital to go get your wallet and keys. You see blood all over the floor. You go in the elevator and see a lot of blood. You start having a flashback. You get yourself together and goes to the residents lounge. You grab your keys and bag. You run out of the hospital and then get in your car. You drive back to Meredith's house. You unlock the door with your keys to see no one is there.

You run upstairs. You go in your closet and pull out your suitcase. You open your drawers and start throwing clothes in your suitcase. After you finish putting your clothes in your suitcase you pack your bookbag. You put your laptop and your hygienic things in the bookbag. You write a note saying "I can't be here right now. I'll be back." You brag your suitcase downstairs. You go in the kitchen and grab chips and cereal. You grab your suitcase and bag and walk out the front door. You throw the suitcase in the trunk and put your bookbag in the front seat. You let out a big sigh. You start the car and then start driving.

You drive to Olympia, Washington to go visit your family.
