Working.

Your alarm goes off about about 7:30. You roll over to the sun beaming through your windows. You look over at your laptop to see it turned off. You get up and grab your suitcase and pull out your charger. You put the laptop on the charger and grab your makeup bag and speaker. You go into the bathroom. You turn your speaker on and start playing your playlist. You get in the shower and get ready for work. "Videocall from Cristina Yang." your speaker announces. You turn the shower off and grab your towel. You answer the phone. "You about to go to work?" Cristina asks.

You walk into the bedroom and dump all the clothes on your bed. "Yes." you say looking for a bra and underwear. You find it and put it on while having a conversation with Cristina. You grab your sweatpants and put them on. "It's cold as shit here." Cristina says. "It's Minnesota Cristina. What did you expect?" you say putting on your shirt. "Oh y/n, I expected rainbows and beaches." Cristina says sarcastically. "You know I don't like your right?" you say. "You love me." Cristina says. "Fuck off." you say while laughing.

"I'll call you on my free break." Cristina says. She hangs up. You grab your shoes and put them on. You grab your little bookbag and place your phone and the charger in it. As your zipping it you see the teddy bear Arizona gave you. You grab it and put it in your bag. You put the bag on and grab the keys on the dresser and the room keys. You leave the apartment and lock the door. You then run to the elevator and hit the button to the parking garage. You get to the parking garage and look for your parking spot. You get there to see this white car. Nothing too fancy. You use the keys and unlock it and get in the car. You back up and get onto the Main Street. You then keep driving until you see the hospital.

You park your car and walk in. "Tom Korasick?" you ask. "Who's asking?" the lady at the desk says. "I'm actually mentoring under him and I start today." you say. "3rd floor, west wing." The lady says. "How do I get to the 3rd floor west wing?" you say. "Are you new here?" the lady says. "First day." you say. "Go straight down the hall, then right to the elevators. Then go to third floor and walk west." the lady says. "Thanks." you say. You walk to the elevators and push the button to the 3rd floor. You get on the 3rd floor and walk to the west wing. "I'm looking for Tom Koracick?" you ask someone. "Your the new person?" they say. "I guess." you say. "I'll show you to the locker room." they say.

You and the person walk to the locker room. "Thanks." you say. "Scrubs are in the back door." They say. You go to the back door and grab your size scrubs. You go and change. A small group of people then walk in. They are all talking to eachother but you just ignore them. You sit on the bench and pull out your phone. You go to your text messages. "At work. Thank you for staying on the phone with me yesterday. Love you." you text Arizona.

Tom then walks in. "Jameson, you made it." Tom says. "It's Johnson." you say putting your hair into a messy ponytail. "Same thing." Tom says. "Everyone line up for rounds." Tom says. "Jacobson with me all day." Tom says. "Johnson." you say. You then nod your head and stay in the back of the group following them. Half hour later everyone finishes their rounds. "Pair up in groups of 2." Tom says. Everyone partners up. "Johnson let's go. Everyone else you know your assignments." Tom says. You follow Tom to a patients room. "Colleen Harvey. Inoperable tumor but we have to make it operable. Find out ways to remove it." Tom says handing you a file.

"But how?" you say. "Do you Jameson." Tom says as he walks away. "It's Johnson." you mumble to yourself. You go the desk across the hall where a computer is. You sit at the chair and open the file. "A glioblastoma." you say. "I did this in Seattle." you say. Your phone starts ringing. You set the phone against the computer and put your headphones in. "You safe?" Alex says. "I miss you too and yes I'm safe." you say. "How does it feel to be away from your bestfriend?" Alex says. "I don't even like you." you say sarcastically. "You definitely love me." Alex says. "Whatcha working on?" Alex says.

"Glioblastoma." you say reading the chart. "Isn't that inoperable?" Alex says. "I removed one with Amelia." you say. "When are you coming back?" Alex says. "Soon." you say reading the chart. You and Alex talk for a while when the monitors start going off in your patients room. "Got to go." you say while taking your headphones out and putting them in your pocket. You then grab your phone and put it in your pocket and run into the patients room. "Where's Dr. Korasick?" the man says. "I'm helping Dr. Korasick out today." you say checking the lady eyes. "He said this is fine. My sweet Colleen did the same thing 5 times this week." the man says.

"5 times?" you say. "Yes." the man says. "It wasn't in the chart." you say. The man then shrugs his shoulders. "I'll be right back." you say. You grab the file and go find Korasicks office. You knock on the door and walk right in. "Am I a joke to you?" you say. "Pardon me?" Tom says. "Nobody wrote in the charts that Mrs. Harvey's blood pressure drops DRAMATICALLY." you say. "Guess they forgot." Tom says. "You gave me a half dead patient!" you say slamming the files on his desk. "Fiesty. Rawr." Tom says. "Are you fucking kidding me?" you say. "She's gonna die in a few days." Tom says. "She's a human being. Not a damn guinea pig for us to test." you say. "Look, like you said. She's basically dead. There's nothing we can do." Tom says.

A second of silence goes by. "Actually, there is something I can do." you say. "I can make sure Mr. Harvey gets to go home with his wife alive." you say. "Your gonna waste your time." Tom says. "I may waste my time but you never know. Miracles happen for a reason." you say grabbing the chart off the desk. You walk out dramatically and close the door behind you. The group of people that was in the locker room earlier are just staring at you. "What the hell are you guys looking at." you say walking past them. You go back in front of Mrs. Harvey's room and sit at the computer.

You start researching and calling top neurosurgeons for advice on the tumor. You write down every single piece of advice. You then get to Amelia's number but doesn't realize it. "Hello. This is Y/n Johnson, I need some advice on how to remove a stage 4 Glioblastoma." you say. "Y/n?" Amelia says. "Amelia Shepherd?" you say. "Oh my gosh! How have you been?" Amelia says. "I'm fine. First day at my new job." you say. "New job?" Amelia says. "I got a spot at John Hopkins in Maryland." you say. "I'm so proud!" Amelia says. "You working under Korasick?" Amelia asks.

"Yeah." you say. "He's a pain in the ass. But a great mentor." Amelia says. You and Amelia talk about personal life and the tumor. "Thanks Amelia." you say. "Come back west! We miss you." Amelia says. "I miss you guys too." you say. "I'll call you soon?" Amelia says. "I'll be waiting." you say. You then hang up the phone. You come up with theories to remove the tumor until you get the perfect theory. You pick up all your pieces of paper and run to Koracick's office. You knock and then walk in. "I think I did it" you say.
