Am I cleared yet?

You wake up very early the next day around 4 in the morning. You get up and get in the shower. After you get out the shower you look in the mirror. You trace your finger over the scar on your stomach. You grab a towel and start brushing your curly hair out. You tie it up into a messy bun. Your brushing your teeth and doing hygienic things. You go back into the room and open your suitcase. You pull out a pair of your scrubs and change into them.

You grab your water bottle and quietly walk down the stairs. You check the time to see it's 6. You fill up your water bottle. You grab a piece of paper from your notebook and write a note to Arizona. You run back upstairs fast but quietly and leave it on her nightstand. You grab your keys and quietly walk out the house trying not to wake up Sofia or Arizona. You get into your car and drive to the hospital.

You get to the hospital and go to the residents lounge. You see a calander hanging up. You read it. "10 days until 5th year residents." "Damn. It seems just like yesterday we were interns." you say while talking to yourself. You go to your morning meeting with Perkins. "Okay guess what!" you say excitedly. "I found out what's wrong with me." you also say. "The grudge what I was holding was what actually happened in Olympia. My mother put her hands on me for the first time and I lost it. I punched her in the face but she's alive thank god." you say.

"I haven't told anyone except for Alex. But he snapped at me. Which made me think that he's a bitch. But anyways. Of course I cried and I moved a suitcase into Arizona's yesterday. So I moved in. And honestly. Ive been keeping myself back while I watch all my friends go forward. So I mean yeah. I could be happier, but I'm happy enough." you tell Perkins. "Wow y/n." Perkins says. "Have you talked to Alex?" Perkins says. "Nope. I'm not letting anything or anyone hold me back anymore." you say.

"Welp. I guess your good for surgery. Thank you for trusting me with your information." Perkins says. You walk out with a smile. You then go find Bailey. "Whos service am I on Dr. Bailey!" you say while smiling. "Either General with me or Neuro with Shadow Shepherd." Bailey says. "I guess general it is!" you say. "Great, just got a consult in the pit." Bailey says. You and Bailey are walking. "Are you cleared for surgery?" Bailey asks as we get to the pit. "Yes ma'am." you say. "Great." Bailey says. We go to the bed where the consult is. "Johnson, present." Bailey says. "Ronald Green, 34, here for stomach problems." you say. "How you feeling Mr. Green?" Bailey says while feeling Mr. Greens stomach.

"Everything hurts." He says. "We will take good care of you sir." Bailey says. "Let's get a CT." Bailey says. Your about to unlock Mr. Greens gurney and he throws up on you. "Oh my god." you say while covered in vomit. "Go clean up and meet me at CT." Bailey says. You go to the supply closet and grab a extra scrub shirt. You then go to the bathroom and take your original scrub shirt off. You try washing it off in the sink. "This isn't coming out!" you say.

Meredith then comes out the stall. "Where's your shirt y/n?" Meredith says. "Someone threw up on me." You say while still scrubbing. "Have you talked to Alex?" Meredith says. "After he yelled at me like that over something I never did? I don't think so." you say while putting on the new scrub top. "Y/n, you two can't live without eachother. You guys are like me and Cristina but way closer." Meredith says. "I have nothing to apologize for." you say while walking out.

You go to the OR and get scrubbed in. You get your gloves on and go help Dr. Bailey. "So, 5th year in 10 days. My babies are growing up." Bailey says while laughing. "Have you declared a specialty?" Bailey says. "Neuro has a special place in my heart. But I also love general." you say. "Honestly wish I could do both." you say. "Would you rather work on one part of the body or multiple parts?" Bailey says while doing the surgery. You start thinking about what Bailey said. You and Bailey then finish the surgery. "Go home y/n. Consider doing general though." Bailey says with a smile.
