The new doctor.

Your back.

It's your day off so you just stay in the house. You finally get yourself up and get in the shower. You then tie your wet hair in a messy bun and put on an oversized shirt. You put your shorts on and then sit back on your bed. You turn on your tv and watch Netflix. You then pull out your phone and order some food.

A few minutes later there's a knock on the door. You get up and go downstairs. You open the door not looking at who it is. "How much?" you say as you grab your money. You look up to see who it is and you drop your money on the floor. "Imagine this, I'm having fun if africa. Someone asks how I am and I burst out crying. Only to think about how I left everything off with you. I'm sorry y/n. I love you. I want to be with you y/n." Arizona says while crying. You just completely in shock. You then start crying and cover your face with your hand.

You shut the door in her face and run upstairs. You grab your phone and call Alex. "A-Alex." you say while crying. "Y/n, what's wrong?" Alex says. "Arizona's back..." you say while completely bawling. "Isnt that good?" Alex says. You start crying even more. "Y/n, stop freaking crying." Alex yells at you. You stop crying but still trying to catch your breath. "Breathe y/n. Just come into work." Alex says. "Okay." You say while crying. You then hang up.

You grab your bookbag and keys. You then look out the window in the living room to see Arizona's still there. You go to your window and open it. You stand on the door edge in the outside. You close your window and slide down the rope. You then sneak to the back of your house and jump over the fence. You then call a cab and the cab takes you to the hospital. You then walk into the residents lounge. You sit on the couch and cover your eyes with your sleeves.

A few minutes later Alex and Jackson walk in. They then look at you. They both come and sit next to you. "Whats wrong with you?" Jackson says. "Everything." you say. "First they take away my niece, my ex girlfriend is now back. I'm having a mental breakdown." you start saying but your voice gets louder. "NOTHINGS OKAY!" you yell. "I need to work." you say while getting up. You grab a pair of scrubs and start changing into them. Alex and Jackson look at you like your crazy. You put on your crocs and wipe your face off. You grab your white coat and then walk to find Derek.

"You got any good cases Derek?" you say while wiping your eyes. You then see a girl standing next to him. "Oh I'm sorry." you say. "Y/n, this is my sister Amelia Shepherd." Derek says. "Nice to meet yo-" you start saying but then you look at the scans behind her. "Woah! Massive tumor!" you say. You then move closer to look at it. "Wait. That's a giloblastoma multiforme." you say while pointing to it. "It's invading the frontal lobe." you say. "How do you even know that? Your not into Neuro." Derek asks. "I know. But like this is cool." you say. "Only 5% of patients live for 5 years once getting diagnosed. 95% die." you say.

"I like her." Amelia whispers to Derek. "Are you guys removing this?" you ask. "We don't know." Amelia says. You stare at the tumor. "This poor person... it looks about stage 3." you say. "I don't think we can remove it. Its impossible." Derek says. "The brain tissue could be fried." Derek says. "Come on Derek!" Amelia says. You trace the tumor with your finger. "If you go in through up the tissue could be fried." you whisper to yourself. "What if instead you go from the front. Instead of the top?" you keep mumbling to yourself. You see a mannequin with a brain and you grab it. You then trace your finger where to make a cut. "But if you go through the front, there'll be more bleeding, but you can control the bleeding with the suction." you keep mumbling while Amelia and Derek are arguing.

"You also would have to be careful.." you say while observing the mannequin and turning it around. You then jump up. "I got it!" you say. Derek and Amelia shut up and look at you. "Instead of going from the top, what if you go from the front." you say while showing them on the mannequin. "There would be more bleeding and a possibility you hit a brain stem but what if you don't. What if you get small enough instruments to not hit the brain stem. You could also control the bleeding and try to remove as much as the tumor so this person can live a little longer. After that they may have to do chemo but they should live after 5 years." you say.

(Guys I don't know if these type of tumors could actually be removed lol. I just was making stuff up.)

"Wait a minute." Derek says. "That's genius!" Amelia says. Derek then studies your procedure more. "Has this been done before?" Derek asks. "Im not sure." you say. "Do some research and see if this has been done before. You will be on this case with us." Derek says. You grab the mannequin head and go to the nurse desk with the computers. You sit in the chair and start researching about the brain tumor. You then ball up in the chair and grab the mannequin. You then run your finger across it and pop the head off it. You stare at the computer reading the research. "Damn it! I can't find anything." you say.

You then find an article. "Bingo!" you yell. You start reading it. You finish reading the article and writing key things down. After you finish you get up and stretch. You then see Arizona walking with the chief. You grab the mannequin and your note book and turn around the corner avoiding Arizona. You then walk to find both Dr. Shepherds. "I found something!" you say. You then explain the whole process to Amelia and Derek. "That sounds risky." Derek says. "It is, but it depends on how old the person is." you say. A few minutes later Stark walks in. "What's he doing here?" you ask. "The child is 9 y/n. We need a peds person to clear us to do the surgery." Derek says.

"This surgery is to risky." Stark says in his annoying voice. "Well then I can find someone else to do it." you say. "Good luck." Stark says while rolling his eyes at you. You want to jump up and choke the crap out of Stark but you stay calm. "Who are you gonna find?" Derek asks. "Damn it Derek. Ask Arizona. I'm not talking to her." you say. "Didnt she leave for Africa?" Derek says. "She's back. But I don't care." you say. "You practice on the mannequin heads while me and Amy go find Robbins." Derek says as him and Amelia leave.

You grab a mannequin head.
You act like you cut the forehead of the mannequin and lift it up. You take off the top of the mannequin and fold it over. You try putting a scalpel around the tumor but the monitor goes off. "Damn it." you say. You grab a bovie. You slowly draw around where the tumor will be and the monitor doesn't start beeping. You realize if you use a laser there will be more bleeding. You start studying the brain more until Derek, Amelia, and Arizona walk in. You hear Derek and Amelia explaining the surgery to Arizona. You keep staring at the scans and then go the tumor.

"This is very risky. Any other options?" Arizona says. You hear them talking but your main focus was the tumor and only the tumor. You feel like you know how to get the tumor but you can't remember. Your not listening to anyone while they call your name. Someone taps you on the shoulder. "Wait huh?" you say. "We're you listening?" Derek asks. "No." you say. "I'm trying to think. The research said there would be an enormous amount of bleeding, but what if we can stop the bleeding. What if we can reduce the amount of bleeding that will happen and we still remove the tumor?" you say. "I see what you mean." Amelia says while walking towards you and the mannequin. "What if we cut half way? Like half of the forehead." Amelia says.

"We could try. But that's going to be a long surgery." Derek says. "We will need people to rotate all of us out." Derek says. "But it'll work right?" you say. "Maybe, we are going to have to practice. But I don't see why it's not going to work." Derek says. You jump out of your chair and hug Amelia. You then walk over and hug Derek. You stare at Arizona and turn right around. "Okay, y/n do research. Meet us in this lab at 9. "Also, get Lexie and an intern. Host a little contest." Derek says. You walk out the lab happy and Arizona follows you out. "Y/n, can we talk?" Arizona says. "For what! You left me. You dumped me! Why should I trust you back in my life? THIS IS THE SECOND TIME YOUVE HURT ME. IF YOU REALLY WANT ME, PROVE IT!" you yell down the hall.

Derek then walks in the hallway to see y'all yelling. Arizona starts crying and you walk away. Derek then hugs Arizona while she cries. "It's okay Robbins." Derek says.

You completely annoyed walk into the residents lounge. You pull out a little glass from your bookbag. You then take a shot of it. You put it back in your bag and sit on the bench. You clinch your fist so you say calm. You grab a cup of coffee. You go back to the nurses station computer. You then start researching ways to do this surgery.
