The new doctor.

Testing day

You wake up on the day of testing day. You then see Joy sitting in the chair next to you. "Testing day
y/n!" Joy says. "Yay let's go! I want to do this now." you say while getting up. "Great. Let's go." Joy says. You get up and put on your crocs. You and Joy then walk to the psych ward. "Why the psych ward?" you ask. "It's where the testing room is." Joy says. She then opens the door to a large room filled like the supply closet I was in the day of the shooting. You take a deep breath and step in. Joy then closes the door behind you and locks it.

"We are going to run a few test." Joy says. You then sit on the floor and lay back. While looking up you see them change the tv to a picture of Gary Clark. You start having flashbacks but you ignore them. "Test 1 complete." Joy says. "Test 2 starting." Joy also says. You just laying on the floor and then you start hearing gunshots. You flinch but say laying on the floor. "Test 2 complete. Moving on to test 3." Joy says.

You let out a big relief. Next thing you know the door is opening and a dude is walking in with a gun. They did point the gun at your head and shove it against your head like Gary did. "Are you a nurse!" they yelled. You then ignore them and close your eyes. "Are you a nurse!" they yelled again. You ignore them and keep calm. "Test 3 complete." Joy says. "Let's start test 4." Joy says. "The person who acted like Gary left. "Sit down." Joy says. You sit down. While your distracted you hear a loud bang. Boom.

You then flinch and cover your ears. "Hands off ears y/n." Joy says. You then take your hands off ears but still close your eyes. From a different direction there's another bang. You flinch again. "I think your good y/n." Joy says. They then open the door to the room. You still are sitting on the floor clinching your fist. Someone taps you on the shoulder. You turn around really quick and smack them. You then open your eyes and cover your mouth. "I'm so sorry." you say. You then get up. "Let's go tell the chief about you y/n." Joy says. You then get up and walk in front of Joy to the chiefs office.

You knock on the door. "Come in." you hear the chief says. "Y/n, nice to see you." The chiefs says. "Hello sir." you say. Joy sits down in one chair and you sit down in the other. "Y/n is clear to go back to work. No surgery for now." Joy says. While Joy and the chief are talking you look out the window to see new interns. "New interns sir?" you ask. "Yep. So congratulations y/n. Your officially a 2nd year resident." Chief says. "Oh. Thank you sir?" you say. "Once you get cleared tomorrow you can come back to work whenever your ready." The chief says.

You and Joy then get up and walk out. But you stop and turn around. "I apologize for everything I did last month sir." you say. You then walk back out. "I'm going to go get your things. You can go to the cafeteria and eat." Joy says. You then walk the other way past the new interns to the cafeteria. You grab a bag of chips and then sit with your friends. "Hey guys." you say. "Hey y/n." They all say except for Alex. You then tap Alex's shoulder. "Hey Alex?" you say. You then see him staring at the new interns. "Alex?" you say. He then finally snaps out of it. "Yeah, yea hey y/n." he says clearly unfocused. "I think Alex likes the new interns." Cristina says. Everyone starts laughing. "Which one Alex?" you ask. You can see him staring to the one with the ponytail.

You then get up and walk over towards them. You sit down at the table. "Hello. Are you guys the new interns?" you ask. "Yeah." they all say. "That's cool." you say. "Oh sorry, I'm Dr. Y/n Johnson." you say. "You sure about that?" Shane mumbles. They all start snickering. "Okay then. Little baldy. Watch out." you say. You then get up and go back to your table. "Dude, you already blew it with an resident." Stephanie says. "Y'all probably don't even know she's an resident. She probably lied." Shane says. You then talk to your friends about what happened. You turn your head to see Joy. "I got to go. See y'all tomorrow." you say. You then walk out with Joy.

Alex then gets up and walks over to the interns. "Imagine blowing it with one of the best residents here. She's not gonna let you do any surgeries." Alex says while walking away. You then walk back to your room and sit on the bed. "I'll get you tomorrow." Joy says. You watch as she walks away. You turn on the tv and watch it until you fall asleep.
