As Ace was forming the words 'Goodbye Danica', she slammed the door in his face. He just stood there with his suitcases in his hand and bowed his head as he thought to himself; 'Aurora was right, he was worthless, after he lost his job, he couldn't pay the mortgage, she had to step in and pay it for six months. And when he got his present job, he couldn't afford anything more than just paying his student loan, and well saving up for that, but didn't she say they were together in this, and it wasn't his fault he lost his job, and she'd love him no matter what, his financial position never mattered to her, she loved him for him.'
He looked up as he turned around and took a deep breath, and as he stepped of the front porch, he exhaled and whispered to himself, "Don't do it Ace, It isn't worth it, to many questions never got you anywhere, remember what happened last time. It just isn't worth it."
With that, he hopped In his car and floored it.
Aurora sitting by the widow in their room watched him as he sped off and murmured to herself, "I'll miss you dummy, but this is for the best right, they say when things repeat itself it's a sign, but I really did try this time." As she was finished her statement her eyes welled up with tears.
Danica had just walked in and saw Aurora murmuring to herself, and said, "You better not be up here crying over that dummy, you were to good for him anyway, you're a queen, and he didn't even try to talk it over with you."
"I know Dani, I know."
"Right, so then why are you being so sulky, let's cancel your client for this evening, and go out, we'll call up the gang, and enjoy ourselves."
"I guess you're right, sitting and sulking won't do any good, we're over."
"That's the spirit, now where are we going, shopping, clubbing or are we gonna binge some kdrama and Run C.U.T episodes and drink starbies?"
"I don't know, you choose, I'm gonna call my client and cancel."
With that Danica sped out the room to go plan their amazing evening, while Aurora called her client, as she was waiting on her client to answer she thought to herself, 'I said we're over now, and maybe in five years we'd try again, he'll get over this, he's a big boy, I hope he's comfortable in his old apartment though.'
At that exact moment, half way across town, Ace was thinking while stuffing himself with ice cream, 'I hope she's doing ok, I really do miss her already, but how could she be so ok with just putting me out, we had our whole life together planned out already the wedding, the honeymoon. But then again, we had that planned out last time as well, and back then, well that was back then wasn't it."
As he continued drowning his sorrows in icy cookies and cream goodness, there was a sudden tap on his window, startled he dropped his spoon. He annoyedly reached down to pick up his spoon without even turning to look at the person tapping the window as he murmered to himself, "Made me drop my damn spoon, this better be important."
As he turned to see who it was tapping incessantly at his window, someone he hadn't seen in years was right beside him, he was shocked.
He rolled down his window, "Shane?"
"Yeah dude, it's been what, it's been what, five years?"
"Yep, about that, I guess we lost contact around that time, you know, stuff happened."
"Yeah ofcourse Ace, 'stuff' happened" Shane said sarcastically.
"I would call disappearing off the face of the earth stuff."
"Well, what can I say Shane? Wait, what are you even doing here, I thought you moved to Japan to be an animator."
"Well, how did you say it, 'stuff happened."
