A week into the Aout vacation Curtis and his grandmother came to Ace's house. His grandmother asked Ace's parents if Ace could come play with Curtis. Ace's mother was reluctant, but she agreed since she was no longer disappointed in him and telling him what a disappointment he was. For the small part of vacation Ace would go over to Curtis' and they would go riding on their bikes and just deliver packages in brown bags. One day Ace asked Curtis where he gets this to sell. Curtis laughed, "From the boss, he's really cool dude." Ace got accepted to his second choice. His mother wasn't very proud, but that didn't bother Ace, he couldn't wait to start secondary school, he had money now, no one would bully him anymore. But that two month vacation was the longest in history, all he heard everyday from his mother was how his cousin di better than him and how all his cousins were going to their first choices.

Vacation ended and the first day of Form one started and Ace had gotten somewhat larger than he originally was because of all the food and snacks, mainly chocolate he ate with the money he made with Curtis. When he got to class everyone already had friends there in his class from their previous schools and Ace was once again excluded, but that didn't bother him much, even though he tried really hard to make friends he realized that day he didn't need friends, he liked being alone since he didn't talk much and friends were just a distraction. He continued with this mindset and finished the first term of form one although he felt quit lonely. But at the beginning of term two it was all good, until just before his exam, one of his uncles died. His mother kept the entire thing a secret, he couldnt go to the funeral because he was a disappointment he had to get his grades up and stop shaming his mum in school, so he tried, but the words you arent trying hard enough always haunted him. One evening while he was walking home from school after his bus dropped him off a black SUV pulled alongside him and a guy pulled him in, "Where's Curtis?"

"Who?" Ace didn't register what they were asking.

The guy pulled out a gun, "I'll you again you useless piece of shit, where is Curtis."

Ace was scared and just took them to where Curtis usually hung out, "What's wrong, what do you all want with him?"

"Well, he stole from us, so we're gonna steal the only thing worth anything to him." The guy said. They jumped out the car and locked Ace in the car with the driver, "Hey, sorry about this kid, they're just a little annoying, they're just gonna rough him up a little."

Ace let out a sigh of relief, however they didn't just rough him up. When they attacked him he fought back, so they beat him to death with their bats. When they hopped back in the SUV they looked at Ace, but the driver intervened, "You didn't see anything right kid?"

Ace shook his head in agreement, the guy next to him said sternly, "Well of course he saw nothing, nothing happened."

They dropped Ace back off home and sped off. Ace was shaken up, but could do anything, so he just went home. 'Even if I said anything I'd end up the same way, but that's ok, I'm useless, it's ok if I die, no one will miss me, I mean mummy thinks I'm useless.' These thoughts continuously ran through his head for the next few days until after his bus dropped him off he saw the black SUV again. He knew if he ran he'd be in trouble so he just stood still frozen in spot. The SUV pulled up next to him and the passenger side window rolled down and a man in a suit stuck his head out, he looked kind and friendly and with a soft voice he said, "Hey kid, you willing to go somewhere with me?"

Ace thought they were going to kill him, so he stammered, "I didn't say anything, I promise, please, I'm sorry."

The man looked over to the driver, "They really scared him didn't they."

"Hey kid, I wont hurt you, just trust me ok."

"But I have to go home, if I don't go home now I'll get in trouble."
