Sylvia turned a thirty minute drive into a ten minute one by getting four more tickets for a total of only ten thousand dollars, to her that was perfectly ok, it jus ten thousand dollars.
As she pulled up to the café next to Ace's job, she saw him sitting in the café drinking coffee.
She messaged him saying she was outside, she saw him look up and when their eyes met he signaled he'd be there in a few minutes.
She nodded in acceptance and sat thinking how she was gonna stall him for the next five hours, firstly she'd carry him to the resturaunt, but it would obviously be closed, and then she'd remember the picnic in the back, and then.
Sylvia saw a girl sit down at the table Ace was at, 'Who's that girl? she's really cute.'
The girl reached out and held Ace's hand while laughing hysterically, 'Why's she putting her hands all over him, does he have a girlfriend, wait, is that Aurora, is that the girl he never wanted to tell me about, does he love her?' Sylvia's mind started wandering and then there was a knock at the passenger side door, she motioned her hand in a shooing motion.
She was still trying to figure out who that girl that was trying to steal Ace from her was.
The figure knocking on the door replied to her ignoring them by saying, "Well I guess I won't be getting lunch today?"
Sylvia didn't quite understand what the figure meant, so she turned to see who it was disturbing her intense thoughts, it was Ace, he had finished paying the tab and had been standing outside the car for quite a while.
"Oh, I'm sorry Ace, I was just." she paused for a moment, "Thinking about something."
"I saw that, you were so deep in thought, the only time I've seen you like that was when you were angry, you good?"
"Hmmm, yeah, I'm great, so had fun?"
"In work, no, today was so tiring, I could really do with that pizza right now, I just wanna relax."
"Oh, I see, but I wasn't talking about work, I was talking about inside the café, I saw you with a cute girl, what's going on between you guys?" She said as she nudged him.
Ace gave a small chuckle before continuing, "Well I guess it would seem so, but it wasn't that fun, turns out she likes me."
"Oh, and that's a bad thing?"
"Well yes and no."
"What? Ace, how can that be a good and bad thing, you're so stupid sometimes. If a cute girl like that likes you, it's obviously a good thing."
"Unless!" Sylvia gasped, "You're batting for the same team."
"What do you mean Sylvia?"
"I mean you rather play with wooden bats." Sylvia said giggling.
"Play with wooden bats?" Ace asked stumped trying to figure out what she was trying to say.
"I mean I get it, you're the typical pretty boy." She added while using air quotes.
"Pretty boy? Me?"
"Yes."
"Ok me being a typical pretty boy, which I am not has what to do with me thinking that it is and isn't a good thing that the girl I was with just now likes me?"
"Well, that's because you rather play with balls than kitty cats."
"What the hell are you talking about Sylvia, what's with this balls and kitty cats?"
"Ok Ace, I'll make it simple, what were you doing with her if you know she likes you but you don't?"
"Well, if you must know." Ace said while rolling her eyes.
