He then put his hand behind her head and pulled her in and hugged her really tightly, "I don't want you thinking you're fat again ok, you're perfect just the way you are."
Sylvia was taken by surprise by what had just happened. And didn't realize Ace had already let go of hugging her. 'If only I could stay hugging him like this, he smells so nice, and he thinks I'm perfect.'
"Hey Syl."
Nuzzling her head in his chest, "Yeah Ace?"
"Am, you can let go now, unless you need a longer hug?"
Sylvia realizing what she was doing abruptly sprung away from him and dusted the front of her awkwardly, "No, I was just surprised by the way you just grabbed me." She chuckled nervously.
"Oh, cool, so pizza?"
"No Ace, I'm still on my diet."
"Oh" he hung his head in dissappointment, "But I'm hungry."
"Well, let's go get a coffee, and I'll decide what we eat for lunch."
"Ok, I guess I could drink a caramel latte and eat a doughnut."
"Where do you put those things?"
"What do you mean Syl?"
"How do you eat like a bear going into hibernation, yet look like a noodle?"
"Well." Ace giggled awkwardly while scratching his head, "You see, in the past, you know what Syl, somethings are better left unknown you know."
"Ofcourse, but if you don't want me asking for your dieting tips, you're buying my coffee ofcourse."
"Do you even need to ask, obviously I'd buy you coffee since you're sponsering lunch.""Right." Sylvia turned around to walk back too the car. "Why don't drive instead." She threw the keys to him and hopped in the passanger seat.
"Well ok, but why though?"
"Because I wanna take a nap."
"How are you tired, it's only one." Ace paused, "Wait, it's already one, I'm supposed to be back at work already." He took his phone out his pocket and shruggred while making a call, "Oh well, half day it is. Hey something came up and I can't make it back to work ok cool bye. Now back to you, why're you sleepy?" As he got into the drivers seat he mumbled to himself, "Are you a child, taking a midday nap, this isn't preschool."
Sylvia covered his mouth with her and turned his face to her, "Listen to me ok honey, I'm tired." She let go of his face and curled up in the passenger seat after fully reclining it she put her hands under her head and nuzzled up against them.
Ace seeing this just sat and stared at her, thing at how beautiful and at piece she looked, unlike when she was awake and constantly arguing and bickering.
"Hey Ace, I know I'm beautiful, but staring at me won't get us to the cafe."
Ace turned away and started the car, "I know, staring at you won't get us there." He floored the car, "My amazing driving will." He cackled.
Sylvia didn't flinch or complain about his speeding, he thought she must've really been tired, but she was just laying there looking at him thinking, 'He always smiles while he's driving, somehow that just always makes his mood better, he has such a wonderful smile.'
Sylvia didn't know how to make him happy, because ever since he came off the phone he was gloomy, even when he was telling her to be happy and not to feel fat, he had this gloomy undertone. Now she wasn't perfectlly sure about that, but from the past couple months of knowing him, and from her grandmother's stories about him, she deduced that the only thing that makes him happy aside from sunsets and that girl, was driving. She remembered her grandmother saying when he was building the car and she told him that it would be dangerous to drive that fast he said 'I guess driving hard is dangerous, but it's my therapy you know gran.' From that she thought, 'If he's sad he'd get a little happy, and if he's not, then he'll just get happier and I can just lay here and look at him.'
