Chapter 25: The longest seven seconds; Part 9

That evening Ace got a call from Jamel;

"Is this Ace?"

"Yes? Who's this?"

"Don't worry who this is, I just wanna warn you parachute pants, if you ever talk to Mira, or look her way again I'll beat you like the bitch you are." After he said that he hung up the phone.

Ace called Mira to tell her;

"Hey Mira."

"Hey Ace, what's up?"

"Jamel just called and said that if I don't stop talking to you, he'll beat me like a bitch."

"He did?"

"Yep."

"Now I'm gonna be honest with you, I think you should leave him, he's, he's not a good person."

"But I love him Ace, could you please not fight with him."

"But what if he comes to fight me?"

"Please just don't fight with him please, please, I'm your bestfriend right, and I know you like me, so please, if you really care for me you won't fight with him."

Ace hung up the phone out of anger, 'I don't like her, I care about her a lot, but I don't like her, I still like Elaina. But I guess it won't kill me.'

The next day, just like Jamel said he came to fight Ace. He hit Ace in the back of his head, "So you thought I'm a pushover and you could just talk to my girl after I told you not too?"

"But she's my friend."

"She's not your friend you little bitch, she uses you. Let me ask you this, why is it that she goes with so many men, but never looked your way?" Jamel hit him across his head again as he was getting up, "Because she knows you like her and would stay through all her bullshit, but you see, I don't like her talking to you. So I'm putting an end to it."

Ace wanted to just beat the life out of Jamel, but he remembered Sylvia, she once said to him that sometimes it's ok to take a beating and walk it off than having a brawl and Bob said if he ever got in a fight with a guy going his school he'd have to knock them out, but if he hit them to hard he'd kill them. And since Ace wasn't the same person he was back then, he didn't know how strong he really was, and if he hit to easy, he'd just provoke Jamel, and if it was too hard, he'd kill him. And then he remembered how Mira pleaded with him not to fight with Jamel. So Ace just lay there and took the beating. Surprisingly to him he could still take a lot of hits, even though he looked anorexic and malnourished now. Eventually Jamel got tired of beating him. But when Ace tried to talk to Mira later that evening she avoided him. And when he went home to message her she had blocked him. He had lost but another friend, and Vishanna slowly followed two months later, when she got a boyfriend, she cut off all contact with Ace.

Then came term three, Ace had changed, he didn't care about anyone but himself anymore. He had been with over six girls, but he still didn't do anything inappropriate with them. Even Justina who according to her he slept with. What really happened was one day after dragon boat practice she picked him up because he finished early and she said she wanted to spend time with him. So obviously he agreed and they went for pizza.

As they were eating the pizza in her car;

"Hey Justina?"

"Yeah Ace."

"I'm a little tired, I'm gonna sleep ok." Ace reclined the passenger seat and went to sleep, but while he was sleeping he felt something on his face and when he woke up Justina was on top his face naked, he pushed her off, "What are you doing?"
