Song for the chapter: Missing by The xx

The weeks go by quicker than I had hoped, and I couldn't be happier when it was finally the week that the boys would be home. They would be arriving on Friday evening and they got to stay for two weeks before having to leave again. These next two weeks would be the best in a long time. I had to get through three tests between Thursday and Friday and I just hoped that I could keep my focus, but it would be hard to do that when all I could think about was being in Luke's arms again.

At school on Tuesday, Linley seems weird and not her usual self.

"Is something wrong Lin?" I ask her as we sit at the lunch table. Nathan and Peter still sat with us and Connor had also joined us. I thought that things would be weird between Nathan and I, but they're not at all. In fact, I think our friendship has improved. Linley and I hang out with him and Peter often and we always have a great time.

"No," she says quietly.

"You really think that's gonna convince me? You should know that I know you better than that," I say with a small laugh.

She sighs and pushes her food away from her. "Michael and I just...we got in a fight." I could tell that she was trying to hold back the tears. Great. Why couldn't we both just be happy at the same time?

"How bad was it?" I ask.

She takes a large gulp before continuing. "Pretty bad. We haven't talked since yesterday morning."

"Do you wanna talk about it?" She just shakes her head and I hug her before she starts crying. "Okay, okay. It's gonna be okay. They'll be home in a few days, I'm sure you guys will work it out and everything will be fine. Let's just get through the rest of the week, okay?"

"Okay," she says quietly.

I hope that whatever was going on between them could be fixed and I'm sure that it would. They loved each other so much and that was obvious to anyone, so I knew it'd be alright. They probably just missed each other a lot and would forget all about it.

Friday was finally here and I couldn't be more excited. I tried not to show too much of my excitement in front of Linley because she was still upset about the fight between her and Michael. Apparently it wasn't getting any better, but I still believed that they would work it out tonight.

I hadn't talked to Luke since yesterday, but I didn't mind since I would be seeing him in less than 5 hours. I felt good about both of my tests and was relieved when school finally let out. I hugged Linley goodbye in the parking lot and told her to call me if she needed me. Luke would be coming to my house straight from the airport and we had all planned to hang out tomorrow. I couldn't stop smiling at the thought of seeing him in person again and it made the time go slower and slower.

When I get home, I take a quick shower and take the time to straighten my hair since I had nothing better to do. I found myself pacing my room many times waiting for the time to pass. I couldn't hold my excitement in anymore and sit up here doing nothing, so I decide to go downstairs and hang out with my family.

My mother wasn't particularly happy about Luke and I getting back together, but there was nothing that she could do about it. I could tell that deep down inside she still loved Luke and I knew that she was happy that I wasn't depressed anymore. When I get downstairs, my mom, Bradley, Josh and Troy are all heading towards the door.

"Oh I was just coming to tell you that we're leaving. We're going out to dinner and taking the boys to see a movie. I figured you didn't want to go since Luke was coming in. You guys aren't staying here alone, right?" She asks.
