Song for the chapter: Oceans by Coasts

Something else that I've missed, belting out the lyrics to the roaring music with Luke. Hearing his beautiful voice sing along to my favorite songs as the breeze tangles my hair further comforts me. Sometimes I'll turn the radio down to catch him off guard as he continues to sing, but he playfully yells at me and turns it back up.

The feeling of being with Luke again felt natural, easier than breathing. It felt like he never even left. He was the only one who could mend my broken heart and he did just that the moment that he said those three beautiful words again. The way he said them so easily. He had only been home for a day and it felt like he was home for good, even though I knew that he wasn't. I try not to think about it too much, but it always slips inside anyways; as did another thought.

How long was this going to go on? The constant coming and going, the feeling of missing him every time he left. I didn't want to know because I already know that it was probably going to be the rest of his life, but a little part of me hoped that it would not last that long. Yes I was only almost 19, but I had made my decision: I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Luke. Being without him made it clear that I didn't, I couldn't, be with anybody besides him. He's already pulled me in too deep, and I was entirely okay with that.

The first thing that I see when we pull into the parking lot is Calum and Ash trying to wrestle each other into the water. I swear they had the biggest bromance, besides the one that Luke and Ashton had of course. Luke takes my hand in his and leads me to the area that our friends had set up. The sand is cold and soothing against my toes. We come to a towel that Linley and Michael are laying unusually far apart on.

"Hey man, wanna go for a swim?" Michael immediately stands up and asks Luke.

"Yeah, sure. I'll meet you in the water in a minute," he tells him. Michael nods and walks down to join the other boys. "Come join me in a little bit or I'll come up here and throw you in," Luke winks at me as he takes his shirt off. His beautifully tattooed skin never fails to take my breath away.

"We'll see," I smirk back. He smiles and leans down to kiss me before running off to the ocean that matched his eyes. I throw my bag onto the ground and lay next to Lin who hasn't said a word nor looked at us since we got here. "Hey babe," I say as I nudge her on the shoulder.

"Hey," she says sadly.

"Still fighting with Michael?" I ask as I lean my head against her's.

She sighs. "Yeah..."

"It's gonna be okay Lin," I try to reassure her.

"I really think he's gonna break up with me," she says before I can say anything else. I honestly didn't know that it was this bad.

"Why do you say that? You haven't even told me what you're fighting about."

"He's just been so distant Allis. It started off as something small, but became a much bigger fight. I don't like to talk about it. I don't know what to do. I feel like he doesn't wanna be around me anymore, we barely talk. He stayed at Calum's last night instead of with me..." She trails off.

Unfortunately I didn't know how to help her. This was kind of how Luke was acting before he broke up with me, but I couldn't tell her that. There was no way that they were going to split up, they were too perfect for each other. I just wish I knew what they were fighting about.

"Maybe you should just try to talk to him about it," I say after a moment. She doesn't answer, but looks at me with shy eyes instead. "You haven't even tried?" I ask.

"No...I'm scared," she whispers. "I don't want him to leave me." I can sense the tears that want to leave her eyes.

"He's not going to Lin, but you have to talk to him. Promise me you'll do that, okay?"

"Okay," she nods.

We continue to talk as we watch the boys be idiots in the water. As the time goes on, she seems happier than she was when we first got here.

"Come on in girls, the water is perfect!" Ashton yells over to us. Lin turns to me with a questioning look.

"Let's go," I say with a smile. We ditch our clothes and run hand in hand down to the water. We scream as soon as our feet are covered in the freezing liquid, but continue to run anyways. As we get deeper, it gets warmer. She walks over to Cal, Ash, and Michael, and I swim over to Luke who is floating on his back a few feet away.

"Boo," I say in his ear.

"You didn't scare me," he smiles as he stands up. His arms snake around my bare waist and warm me completely. I never had to worry about being cold when I was around Luke.

"How's Lin?" He asks. He sinks down to level his face with mine and I lose my train of thought when the sun reflects from the water and into his eyes.

"She's better, for now," I say when I get the words back.

"Good, I'm sure everything will be fine." He brings my body tightly against his and I feel his muscles contract against my skin. "Do you remember when I first brought you here?" He asks. I can sense the smile just from his voice.

I pull away to look at him and can't hold back the smile. "Of course I do, how could I forget?" I laugh.

He laughs as well before speaking. "That was when I first knew that I actually loved you, even though I barely knew you. I just...knew," he smiles warmly.

"How did you know?" I ask. I'm thankful that I no longer have to be afraid to ask him too many questions.

"Because of the way you looked with the sun shining on your face, and how your hair would blow crazily in the wind, how you listened to every word that I said with such interest. I just loved the way you made me feel like no one else ever could. Those are all of the things I still love about you, along with a billion other things," he winks. His words warm my heart and send butterflies rushing all over my body.

"You are so perfect Luke," I sigh.

"You are. I don't know what I did to deserve you or how I got so lucky to get you back after I fucked everything up, but I am never going to lose you again. You're it for me Allis." His tone is more serious than before and each word turns my brain to mush.

"You're never going to lose me, and you know that I'm never going anywhere either." I bring his face to mine and feel the sensation that shoots electricity into my veins.

"Get a room lovebirds!" We hear Calum yell.

"Fuck off," Luke yells back. We all laugh and he laughs into my lips before reconnecting his with mine.

I also knew that I first loved Luke that same day that he brought me to the beach, and I had just fallen in love with him all over again in this exact moment.
