Chapter 9- Kate and Eva

Kate's POV:

"Farrah I swear to god did you tell her?" I asked Farrah after cheer practice was over. "Who's her?" She asked.
"Eva! Did you tell Eva?" I asked.
"Oh! I didn't tell her anything." Farrah said. "Then why did she ask to go to the movies sometime this weekend?" I asked.
"Because shes your friend and your now gf." Farrah said, actually using the letters g and f.
"Oh." I said.
"What movie and what time? I will dress up weirdly so if I pick up on anything you know not to break it off with Eva." She said. "Umm why?" I asked.
"If she is going to like propose or something you shouldn't break up with her."
"SHE'S GOING TO PROPOSE?!" I yelled the team looked at me, Eva and Farrah looked the most concerned.
"Please, don't yell." Farrah whispered. "Answer my question." I said.
"You miss heard me, I'm just going to be looking out for you." Farrah said.
"Eva's your best friend. Why are you on my side and not hers?" I asked.
"I have my reasons." She turned around. "EVA!" Eva ran over to us.
"Text me, goodbye." Farrah said as she was running away from us.

"Hey Eva." I said.
"So what movie do you want to go see?" She asked as we were walking to Chess' car. Chess always took us home from every practice, our houses are only around 5 minutes from each other.
"I don't know what are they showing?" I asked. Eva turned on her phone and went on Google.
"At Penn Cinema they are showing Tom at Jerry." She said.
"What are you, 12?" I asked.
"I like Tom and Jerry." She said.
"Fine. When are the showings?" I asked. "WAIT! NO! That new Disney movie came out." Eva said.
"Didn't that come out in March?"
"Well yeah, but I haven't seen it."

"Are there any movies that aren't meant for elementary level?" I asked.
"I'll look." She said and started scrolling on her phone again.
"There is one called the courier." She said. "What's it rated and what's it about?" I asked and climbed into the front seat. Chess was already in the car. Eva got in the back. "PG13 and it's basically about Cold War spy and his Russian source try to put an end to the Cuban Missile Crisis." Eva said.
"What are the show times for Saturday?" I asked.
"Umm there aren't any for Saturday." She said.
"So what are they for today?" I asked. "A 7:30 one." She said.

"You two setting up a date?" Chess asked. "Yeah I guess." I said.
"Ok, carry on." She said.
"So it's 5ish now, we can get tickets there and we just need to run home and change out of our uniforms and get dressed and stuff." Eva said.
"I'll ask my mom to drive me." I said.
"I can run around being the Uber, it's not like I have anything better to do." Chess said.
"You don't need to do that, Chess." I said.
"I know I don't need to, I want to. I'll pick you up at 7:20 and Eva up at 7:25, or just around. Just text me when it's over and I'll come get you." Chess said as we pulled around to Evas house.
"Thanks Chess! Bye!" Eva said and got out of the car.

"So are you going to dress up?" Chess asked as she was backing out of the driveway. "God no." I said.
"At least let me help you wear something that's not...kateified."
"Kateified?" I questioned.
"Kateified. It's when you dress like your aesthetic." Chess said.
"And what is wrong with my aesthetic?" "It's...8 year old boyish." She said.
"Excuse me."
"So if I don't help you, how are you going to dress?" She asked.
"Umm a graphic tee and leggings? I don't know Chess."
"Girl. No." Chess answered.
"What? What's wrong with that?" I asked. "Literally everything. I'm helping you." Chess said.
"Fine, but don't Chess me up." I said and she laughed.
"I'll make it look like you kind of did it yourself." She pulled into my driveway. "Let's go." We both got out of the car.

I walked in the house before Chess. Kaya slowly got up and made her way over to us.
"Hey Kate," Chess walked in. She immediately crouched down and started petting Kaya.
"And Chess, hello girls, I should have just said hello girls. I always forget I have 4 children." My mom said.
"Hey Mrs D." Chess said and grabbed my wrist.
"Come on, we only have" she looked at her phone "2 hours." She pulled me upstairs.
