Dani's POV:

"I swear to god, Dave. Splash water in my eyes one more time." I said with annoyance, rubbing the salty water out of my eyes for the 90th time.

"Okay.... mom." He joked putting his hands up in defense playfully. I gave him a look of sarcasm before walking through the water over to Courtney and Kurt sitting on beach chairs. My headache was already kicking in.

"Hey, Kurt." I smiled warmly. He waved in response as a cigarette hung from his lips perfectly like it always does. He really was too good for us. I never for a second didn't believe that.

"We were thinking of going over to the boardwalk later tonight and maybe getting some drinks. Do you two wanna come?" Courtney asked pushing some of her hair out of her face. I looked over at Dave sitting in the sand.

"Yeah, that sounds fun. Let me go make sure it's okay with...." I started. Kurt raised his eyebrows at me. He always told me not to let Dave "control" me whatever that means. And I guess he was right. Sometimes I just needed a reminder. I bit my tongue to stop my sentence.

"Let me go ask Dave if he wants to come with." I corrected. Kurt smiled in response as I walked back over to Dave.

"Hey, we're gonna go to the boardwalk tonight. Do you wanna come. It'll be fun!" I asked placing my arms around his neck out of instinct. Dave smiled down at me and kissed my forehead.

"Sure, that sounds fun." He whispered before taking my hand and walking back along the shoreline. The sun was beginning to set over the ocean. And my god it looked beautiful as ever.

"I'm gonna go upstairs and change.... you should, uh, come with." I cleared my throat so he knew what I was implying.

"Say no more." Dave sighed dramatically before walking up the stairs of the hotel with me and quickly unlocking the door.

"So then...." Dave was in the middle of a "funny" story at the bar. We were all drinking a little too much, but I tried not to. We all remember what happened the last time I did that.... but I thought it would be okay to drink a bit, have some fun. I blocked out the last part of Dave's story and blanked out feeing tipsy.

"Danielle, you alright?" I heard Kurts voice ask me quietly. His hand was firm on my shoulder. I nodded out of instinct and continued to drink my bottle of Bud Light.

"Dani, do you remember that?" Dave asked me. I could tell I wasn't in a good state of mind, I was drunk of course. It's like alcohol makes me blank out and then makes me flip out.

"What?" I laughed at him making everyone turn their heads.

"When you took me to the botanical center and then we went out for drinks?" Dave repeated. I couldn't say I remembered that day in the moment. I really couldn't... but I lied and nodded.

"Yeah.... I remember that." I said feeling a bit dizzy. Alcohol can fuck you up bad... The rest of the night was a blur I barely have any recognition of what happened after that.

There's one thing I remember and it's cringe to the max so brace yourself. Me and Dave were on our way back to the hotel and the most cliche thing happened. Our drunk asses had to walk all the way back because no one was able to drive. For some reason I remember us laughing and laughing hard.

"I love you...." Dave sang stumbling around the sidewalk.

"I love you too...." I giggled back locking my hands around his neck and falling backwards. I just began laughing again as Dave grabbed my legs and pulled me up. I wrapped my legs around his waist and he held me like he would a five year old.

"Are you sure this is a..." I started as he carried me up the stairs of the hotel and almost dropped me, "good idea." I shouted with laughs as he basically broke the door down and fell on the bed with me on top of him. Laughing was the main factor in this whole situation. I rolled off of him and laid beside him on the bed with my eyes ready to shut at any moment.

"I just can't wait to wake up with a headache tomorrow..." Dave quietly mumbled beside me scooting closer and putting an arm around me. I hummed a giggle and shut my eyes breathing in and out sharply. The last words I heard from Dave that night gave me shivers. I wish I could've stayed awake long enough to start a conversation about it.

"I don't wanna stay at hotels anymore.... I wanna get a house," Dave started, "with you." Then my eyes shut.
