It had almost been a month since Dave left. And I was getting bigger every single day, to the point where I could barely even get up. And it felt cold and edgy in the house all the time too.

He was coming back today at some point thankfully. And it could be any minute now.

"Guess who's back?" I heard from the kitchen as the door opened. I wanted to get up to hug him but I physically couldn't.

"Hi! Having a little trouble getting up over here." I said through struggling breaths. Dave laughed and walked over to see me. He bent down and swung his arms around my neck carefully hugging me.

"Wow. You look... different." Dave said taking a seat next to me.

"Fatter is what you mean?" I asked placing my hands on my stomach sadly.

"No! Pregnant-er." He said with a snarky look. I hit his arm before leaning my head against his shoulder.

"I missed you, Dave." I mumbled feeling tired out already. I didn't have any energy anymore... and I didn't know why... well I did but like not really. It was hard to explain. I didn't want to be pregnant anymore..

"That's weird... because I missed you too." He joked kissing my forehead. I just wanted to have this goddamn kid already, and it sucked because I sound terrible saying that but I did.

"So... nothing happened while I was gone?" Dave asked me.

"Nothing. It's been so boring." I complained rolling my eyes again.

"I'm sorry... what about the baby. Did anything happen with the baby?" Dave asked placing on hand on my stomach. I could tell he enjoyed doing that a lot. It's like a way for him to connect with the the little boy in my stomach.

"Not really. I mean... he's kicked a couple times. But nothing big." I said to him. Dave just smiled looking down on my stomach. It's like he could see the baby already... I was jealous that he had that sort of mindset. All I wanted was to go into labor.

"Well... maybe he's gonna play soccer?" Dave joked still seeming to be still into my stomach. He looked at it like he loved it... I've seen that look before. He really was gonna be a perfect dad... I know he was. Maybe he didn't think so but I sure as hell did.

"He could be coming any time now, ya know?" I added.

"Really? Has it been 9 whole months?" Dave asked surprised.

"I know right. Oh, and by the way. I kind of told Courtney and Kurt we'd have them over tonight. And then I wanted to ask you if you'd be okay with me and Courtney going shopping for the baby tomorrow? Just us..." I trailed off hoping Dave wouldn't be disappointed.

"Sure! I don't mind at all... just get some really cute things!" Dave said excitedly.

"Okay, David. I'll get a shirt that says: "Daddy Is My Hero" or something." I joked with him.

"Sounds good!" Dave said before jumping up off the couch and over to the kitchen. He opened the fridge, pulled out the milk before just drinking it right out of the carton.

"You do know there's other people who drink that right?" I eyed him as he walked back over to me.

"And that person happens to kiss me every second of every day. It would technically be the same thing." Dave used his witty sense of humor.

"Wow. Smooth." I smiled sarcastically. Dave rolled his eyes before the door bell rung. They were a tad bit early. But whatever? We were just gonna hang out anyways. Dave answered it the door. And just like we planned we hung out the whole night. Just being friends... not letting anything else get in the way.
