Chapter Seven

Theme:Ride with me

       Night in my house was calm and real quiet, it was always Dad and I together. Its either we were in our different rooms doing 'whatever' or we watch TV in the living room together,while waiting for mum. She still comes home late and really tired,I hope she doesn't get sick,i know how it is to be really sick and its not a cool thing.

     Dad and I were in the living room watching a documentary on TV, as Dad adjusted his posture and laid on the couch,I helped him take off his prosthetic leg and massaged his half limb. I can imagine how it feels wearing prosthetic legs (plastic legs) for almost a whole day,its not easy for Dad,that's the reason i help him massage his amputated leg as to relieve his muscles.

    "Can you help me apply the silver balm instead, it works way faster" Dad asked.

   "Where did you put the balm?"

   "On the top of my desk in my room"

"OK Dad,I'll be back in a jiffy" I said as I rushed to his room to get the balm.

   I got to Dad's room and saw the balm just where he said it would be, just as I took it and was about going out of his room,I felt a bit faint and my head was spinning. I almost fell due to how dizzy I felt,I sat at the edge of Dad's bed to catch my breathe. I don't know what caused that,but I'm sure it was due to not taking my pills,this must be a side effect. I took in a deep breath and it seemed I was fine so I left for the living room.

    "That took you long enough Princess,the balm wasn't hidden"

   "I'm sorry,I was uhm......staring out the window.... Looking for..... Uhm"

   "Its okay princess,stop stuttering...... Besides I'm too tired for a massage now, let's do it tomorrow...... I need to rest" Dad said as he was yawning to finish the rest of his words.

    "Okay Dad,get some rest"

  "Yes i will...... Pls help me take out the trash,it skipped my mind a while ago"

    "I will, now go to rest_i love you" I said as I kissed his forehead. He couldn't respond as he was already fast asleep,he was that tired.

    I dropped the balm and went to take the trash outside. As I stepped out of the house,i spotted Mr Saucypants,he was with a bicycle_seemed like he was going for a ride.

    He sighted me and before I knew it,he was walking in my direction. As he came closer,my heart started to beat fast,why was it doing that, it didn't feel right.

     "Hey Princess!" Adrian said as he smiled.

That sent shivers down my spine,the name he called me__like i couldn't explain. Only my Dad called me 'Princess' and no one else, but that wasnt it,the way Adrian called it, like the baritone in his voice made it seem way cooler.

    As he was up close,I stared at every detail, his eyes were so pretty that it was sparkling_they were ivory gold and his height, hair,scent,tone,everything was beautifully and perfectly made. I was lost in thought while mesmerizing over his hotness that i didn't even notice he was talking, his lips were moving though.

    He waved his hand at my face to grab my attention cos he noticed I wasn't listening to what he was saying.

    "Helloooooo??!!"

"Oh oh I'm so sorry" I apologized as I snapped out of my drooling over his looks.

    "I was asking for your name, seems you didn't hear me" Adrian said

   "Oh my name.....my name is Tania......Tania Woods"

   "Tania Woods..... A pretty name for a pretty girl" Adrian said as he kissed my hands softly.

   A thousand fireworks lit up in my head,I didn't see that coming at all. My heart beat really fast when his lips touched my hands, the heat crept through my skin and I was already craving his lips on mine. Gosh its just a kiss Tania,get yourself together!!

  "Than__Thank you" Was all I managed to say as words were really failing me.

   "Its my pleasure......And I'm Adrian Guilano,your new neighbor, supposed classmate and boyfriend-to-be.....some day" He said as he laughed.

  Okay that was quite heavy, 'Boyfriend-to-be was obviously a joke,i don't know why I felt anxious hearing it.

   "You shouldn't joke with a word like that, your girlfriend will be very mad at you if she heard that" I said as I couldnt wait to hear his reply to that. But then he bursted out laughing...........

   "Girlfriend?? Who said I had one?"

"Today in school with the other guy,he talked about you dating his sister.......which technically means his sister is your girlfriend"

    "He was just being a jerk face,I don't have a girlfriend....... And if you are asking, probably to fill up that post,well I'm glad to say its vacant"

    "You are really funny,what post......cmon!!"

"And you are funnier,pretending you don't know what post I'm talking about"

   So the conversation started to make me feel uncomfortable and icky, then I sighted his bicycle and thought of changing the topic.

   "So, are you going for a ride?"

  "Yeah I am,can you ride??" Adrian asked.

"No .......its been really long"

     "I could teach you.......if you want"

    "That would be lovely,but why are you going for a ride this late?" I asked.

"This is the perfect time, when you know how to ride well,you'll understand"

And that's how we talked about riding and bicycles till It got cold outside and i decided to go back inside,as I waved goodbye and turned my back to leave,Adrian called out to me............

   "Tania!"

   "Yes"

    "Would you love to go on a ride with me tomorrow night?".
