"Do you think Quackity convinced Eret and Niki?" I whispered. Tommy glanced over at the three and sighed. All three of them were whispering amongst themselves, giving us side glances every once in a while.
"Probably," he muttered.
"I don't understand. Why can't they believe you aren't the traitor, (Y/n)?" Tubbo said frustratingly, "Fundy trusts us. So does Wilbur and Techno. Then Quackity has to go and stir the pot, and he drags Eret and Niki with him."
"Well Eret knows how it feels to be a traitor," Tommy commented angrily, "So I'm not really surprised. But Niki? She's usually reasonable, though I think her time in Manberg has made her a bit more paranoid."
"In a way, it's fair," Tubbo noted, "Schlatt almost tried to execute her as well. You know, it was only because of Quackity's distraction that she escaped." I raised my eyebrow.
"Really? Doesn't seem like something Quackity would do," I replied.
"Big Q normally isn't like this," Tommy told me, "Yeah, he's being an asshole right now, but he's a good person. He's chaotic and funny and usually enjoyable to be around."
"I can imagine chaotic," I snorted, "First time I met him, he kissed my hand and called me his love." Tommy started laughing but clasped a hand over his mouth, and Tubbo rolled his eyes but smiled.
"We're supposed to be fighting a war today, why are you laughing?" Wilbur asked. He walked into the hallway with Techno close behind.
"Nothing," Tommy stated quickly, a flash of pink on his cheeks. Wilbur looked around the room, pausing at the empty space between the eight of us.
"Where's Fundy?" he asked. Just as I was about to answer, though, the fox-man slipped in through a doorway, his arms carrying two large boxes.
"I'm here, sorry," Fundy said, out of breath, "I was trying to find the extra strength and regeneration potions; they were in the back cupboard of the brewery. There's enough for all of us to have two of each." He passed out the potions, and I slipped mine into the side pocket of my supplies bag.
"Is it time yet, Wilbur? Should we go through the tunnels yet?" Tommy asked impatiently. Wilbur sighed.
"One second, Tommy," Wilbur said, "Everyone remember their role in the plan, correct? And everyone has their supplies?" We all nodded. Quackity cleared his throat, and Wilbur looked towards him.
"I don't see how it's fair that I'm paired with (Y/n)," he said, crossing his arms, "Are you guys trying to get me killed? I don't get how you all haven't done something about her yet." Wilbur frowned, but before he could say anything I took an angry step forward.
"Can't you just shut up?" I spat, to his surprise, "There's a reason I'm still here in Pogtopia, you know. Because. I'm. Not. The. Traitor. If your brain still can't believe that, then be comforted by the fact that Techno is also with us, so I'm not going to stab you when you're not looking."
I turned around and walked back to Tubbo and Tommy, standing directly in between them. Tommy had a cocky smirk on his face while Tubbo's gaze was awkwardly fixed onto the floor. Wilbur opened his mouth to say something, but closed it again.
"Let's go, then," he finally said, waving towards the tunnels. Tommy let out a battle cry, causing Tubbo and me to stifle our laughing, before taking off after him.
"Be careful, you two, okay?" I asked as we neared the end, "Tubbo, keep Tommy from doing anything stupid. Tommy, just —I don't know, don't get yourself killed." Tommy scowled at me and Tubbo let out a small laugh.
The morning sun was just barely peeking out from over the horizon when we exited the tunnels. The bright red and orange light casted an eerie glow onto the country before us, abandoned by all but a few of its citizens. In the center of it all, on a pole above the White House, stood the Manberg flag, waving gently in the breeze.
