The Fight

The outline of the wooden cabin became clearer as we approached, and we paused at the edge of the snowy meadow, looking over the building. The windows glowed from light within the house, and the curtains were pulled down so that we couldn't see inside. As we stood there, though, I thought I saw a flash of a shadow inside.

"The goal is to overwhelm him," Big Q said, breaking the silence, "That is, if he doesn't surrender peacefully. If this ends up in a fight, try to stay in a group and fight together."

"I'll grow a third arm before Technoblade 'surrenders peacefully,'" I huffed.

"Shut the fuck up," Big Q retorted in slight annoyance.

"Please, let's be reasonable," Tubbo cut in, placing a hand on my shoulder, "We're all in this together, and we have to work as a group." I relaxed with a sigh as Tubbo sent a gentle smile in my direction.

"(Y/n), if you could divy up the potions," Fundy asked me, "Make sure everyone has one of each, and then keep the extras for later on." I nodded, reaching inside my supply bag. I passed a few different potions to each of them.

"We should probably use the night vision potions, right?" I muttered, rummaging through the bag, "It's dark out, and I doubt that we can stall a fight until dawn."

"Hey, uh, guys—"

"Yeah, definitely." Big Q nodded, glancing down at my supplies. "Swinging a sword blindly isn't the greatest idea. How many do we have?"

"Six," I counted.

"Um—" Ranboo stuttered awkwardly, staring towards Techno's house. Raising an eyebrow, I looked over at him.

"What?" Tubbo asked, "Is it Techno?" Big Q and Fundy snapped around to look at Techno's house as well. Instead of seeing the pigman, I spotted a slightly glowing figure skipping towards us. The person never seemed to land on the snow, though, but was treading delicately over the air.

"No, it's Ghostbur," I corrected.

"Ghostbur?" Fundy repeated louder, "Ghostbur, what are you doing here?" The translucent ghost waved eagerly at us, speeding up before coming to a stop.

"Hello!" he greeted cheerfully, "What are you guys doing here?"

"Looking for Techno," Tubbo responded, "Have you seen him?"

"Oh, Techno says that he's not here." Ghostbur answered with a proud expression. I laughed, holding a hand up to my mouth to hide my smile. I could almost imagine Techno's facepalm if he heard what Ghostbur said.

Speaking of that, though, as I glanced back over to the house, I could make out a figure on the front porch of the cabin. His crown sat atop his head and his red cape was fastened around his neck, lit by lanterns, a long shadow cast across his face.

I elbowed Tubbo gently and nodded towards the house. His eyes wandered over and I watched his mouth tighten into a thin line when he found Techno in front of the house.

"He's right there." Big Q turned to where Tubbo pointed, his eyes narrowing in concentration. Ghostbur glanced over as well with a confused expression on his face.

"Technoblade is so silly," he sighed with a shake of his head, "He told me to say that he wasn't home, but he came outside to where you can see him."

"How about you stay here, Ghostbur?" I said in a gentle voice, "We just want to have a nice talk with Techno." The ghost nodded, gliding over to a nearby tree to float cross-legged underneath it. Oblivious to the intensity of the situation, he fixed his beanie and brushed a fluffy tuft of hair out of his eyes.
