This was it.

The day of the festival.

I was standing boredly against the side of the stage, waving to invitees as they walked past and found their seats in the audience. Tubbo and the other members of the Butcher Army were having a meeting in the Camarvan, which I didn't feel like attending. The festival was driving up my nerves enough already, and I didn't need to see all the others riled up with final planning.

I didn't have an important role in this execution, anyway. It was mostly between Tubbo, Big Q, and Fundy. My role in the execution had been completed long ago, in the early preparation stages: convincing Dream to come to the festival. The rest of the planning was left up to them.

"(Y/n)!" Someone called out to me. I had been staring out into the distance, so I focused back to the world around me and smiled upon seeing Niki approaching.

"Hey, Niki, how are you?" I greeted.

"I'm doing great! It's been so long since I last saw you, (Y/n)," she replied, "You don't come by the bakery that often anymore. I've had to make do with talking to Puffy and Jack all the time!"

"Aw, sorry about that," I apologized with a gentle laugh, "I've been really busy recently with the festival and all. After all this is over, I should have more time to stop by."

"Don't worry, I understand," she told me, "I just missed your company, that's all. Do you mind if we spend some time together during this festival? Oh, and have you met Puffy? She's a good friend of mine, and I think the two of you would get along really well!"

"I have met her, yes," I nodded, "she's part of the Badlands, right? I saw her just the other day."

"Oh, great! So you already know each other!" Niki said happily, "oh, also, I brought some bakery treats and left them on one of the empty food stands. I hope you don't mind."

I shook my head. "Not at all! I'm sure Tubbo and the others would be happy that you've done that. All of our baking is subpar compared to yours."

She giggled and pushed my shoulder playfully. "Oh, please, you don't need to make me sound that great!"

"Hey, (Y/n), we're ready to start." The voice belonged to Tubbo and I felt someone tap me on the shoulder. I turned around and saw the brunet kneeled down on the edge of the stage looking down at me. Fundy and Quackity were a couple feet back while Ranboo was on the other side of the stage.

"Oh, okay," I replied with a nod, "You should go sit down, Niki. We can talk more once the festival starts." The girl nodded and gave me a quick wave before slipping into the crowd and taking a seat next to a familiar horned woman with a captain's hat on her head.

Tubbo tapped on the microphone for a moment and then cleared his throat. He had grown more confident as President as time went on, and I could see the differences in comparison to his very first time stepping up to the podium. A smile appeared on my face just thinking about it.

"Hello, everyone! Thank you for coming to the festival today!" Tubbo said cheerfully, "As it mentioned in your invitations, this festival is a celebration of the peace between L'Manburg and the Dream Smp. We have quite a few activities planned and feel free to help yourself to food at any of the stalls. Thank you again!"

The thought suddenly occured to me that the e most important person at this festival was missing. The green man himself. As the attendees began to wander over to the first event, I made my way up to stage and slipped next to Tubbo, who raised an eyebrow at me.

"Dream?" I asked simply.

"Don't worry. He told me that he would be a bit late to the festival," the brunet assured me, "We can just have some fun right now. You up for some ring toss?" I nodded my head and allowed myself to smile.
