I stood at the back of the new stage, in L'Manburg, tapping my foot against the wooden floor. Fundy stood to my right and Big Q talked with Tubbo next to the microphone.

Down below, the citizens of L'Manburg along with a few others began to gather for Tubbo's speech. As I waited for it to begin, Tubbo's conversation with me earlier drifted into my thoughts.

"(Y/n), I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to give Big Q the Vice President position," he told me, a guilty expression on his face, "It's not that I don't trust you, it's just—"

"You don't want it to seem like favoritism," I finished for him, smiling, "Don't worry, Tubbo, I'm not upset. It's just a political position, after all." He let out a long breath, lowering his gaze to the ground.

"I guess I was anxious for nothing," he laughed softly, "I'm glad you understand, though. It's so nice to have someone in this world who can just understand me."

"That's what I'm here for," I replied, squeezing his hand encouragingly, "Now go give your speech." He gave me a bright smile and the two of us climbed the steps of the stage.

Soon enough, the audience began to quiet down and Tubbo cleared his throat at the microphone. He was much more confident in public speaking now and had definitely improved since the first speech he gave at the Manberg Festival.

But that was also where he—

"Thank you, everyone, for gathering here today," Tubbo began, "I have a few different things about L'Manburg that need to be addressed. First of which is the exile of the former Vice President, TommyInnit." A low murmur rumbled through the crowd, but Tubbo didn't seem fazed by it.

"I know some of you may be confused or upset with that decision, but understand that, as President, I must do what is best for my country," Tubbo explained confidently, "Tommy was my best friend, and it pained me terribly to do that to him. But now the walls around our country are gone and a war was avoided."

A flash of green crossed my vision, and, upon scanning the crowd, I found the masked man leaned against a building at the edge of L'Manburg, watching the speech.

"Now that he has been exiled, though, someone else must fill in the Vice President position," Tubbo continued, "And that person is Quackity." The audience applauded politely as Big Q waved at them from beside the podium.

"Next piece of business is that I'm happy to announce that the reconstruction of L'Manburg is complete! Speak with Big Q if you are interested in moving into one of the newly built homes in L'Manburg," Tubbo said, "He'll set you up to move into one of the vacant homes."

There was something strange, though. It seemed as if Dream was looking in my direction—no—he was looking directly at me. It was almost like the black pupils of his smiling mask were locked with mine. Then, as if beckoning me to follow, his head gave a quick twist to the side before disappearing from view.

Now how the fuck does he expect me to ignore that?

"Hey, Fundy, I'll be back in a little bit," I muttered to the fox man beside me. His puffy tail shook softly and he gave me an affirming nod, with his eyes still focused forward on the crowd. I slipped off the back side of the stage as Tubbo continued speaking.

It took a short walk to find him again, and just as I thought, he looked like he was waiting for me.

"Knew you would come," he chirped, placing the head of his axe against the ground. We stood beside New L'Manburg, a few feet from the water's edge.

"How was I not going to," I deadpanned, "You've got some questions to answer, Dream." His head cocked to the side in curiosity.

"Oh? Do I?" He leaned lightly on the handle of his axe. His green hoodie was covered in dust and dirt, as if he had been underground.
