After quite an exhausting day at work, Kim Seokjin stepped into his home and a fist came flying from literally nowhere. Seokjin quickly ducked out of the way and he looked up bewildered to the owner of the fist only to be met with the evil grin of his annoying, young best friend, Jeon Jungkook.
"That gave me a heart attack!" He cried, placing a hand on his chest.
"You were too slow," Jungkook commented. He flipped the lights on in his apartment, shooting a glare at the young guy. "I wasn't."
"Then shall I hit you for real?" He offered, smiling evilly, his grin reminiscent of a bunny.
"Not today, Jungkook-ah."
Jungkook folded his hands as the smile he was wearing slowly faded into an angry pout.
"You know what, I'm really mad at you. Why didn't you call me when you reached Korea?" He asked, trailing behind Seokjin as he made his way into his bedroom. "I've been waiting for you to come back from France for years and what did you do? You kept it a secret that you were back!"
"I was going to surprise you on your birthday. But how did you even find out?" Seokjin asked the younger as he removed his coat and hung it inside the closet. Jungkook narrowed his eyes at the excuse wondering whether he should believe him or not before he eventually gave in.
"Then you shouldn't have updated your SNS genius. Do you know how shocked I was when I found out that you were back home from your IG story? I felt so betrayed!"
"I'm so sorry Jungkook," Seokjin apologized walking back to the kitchen with Jungkook at his tail. "Here have a drink." He said, nonchalantly holding out a bottle he took out from one of the shelves.
Jungkook took the bottle and threw it right back at his chest. "I'm not falling for your vinegar prank again!"
"AHAhahahaha," He burst out laughing, his laughter squeaking like a wiper against the glass as he rubbed a hand against his chest where Jungkook threw the bottle at. Wiping away feigned tears, he gazed back at the younger guy as if he were admiring him. "You have grown."
"Of course I have. After the number of times, you pranked me with that, I had to!" The younger retorted, scowling at the chuckling man beside him. Fetching a real drink from his refrigerator, Seokjin handed it to him who took it skeptically from his hand.
"Anyway, I heard that you are working as Yoongi Hyung's secretary. Why? You are clearly overqualified for that job. I thought you would go for marketing or finance."
Seokjin hummed thoughtfully, "Yoongi begged me to do it. So I decided I'll try out that field."
"Yoongi Hyung begged you? And you agreed to that?!" Jungkook exclaimed, nearly dropping the can of orange soda he was holding. "That's impossible. Hmmm..." He hummed, narrowing his eyes into slits. "There's definitely more to the story."
The elder smiled at Jungkook's intuition as a sly smile made its way across his lips. "I heard something interesting."
Seokjin leaned against the counter beside Jungkook who was currently sitting on the top of it. "You know all about the battle of the Min brothers going on in that company, don't you?"
Jungkook eagerly nodded his head, leaning forward intrigued.
"He needs my help with it. He's having a hard time handling things alone."
"He needs your help? I thought Yoongi Hyung was going to get the company for sure. Sahan isn't anywhere close to being a competition for Hyung. What happened?"
"You see that's the interesting part." Seokjin pointed out, "It isn't Sahan who he is necessarily concerned about. It is the person behind the scenes."
Seokjin's eyes locked onto Jungkook's.
"The real MVP of the game."
Earlier that day
Sahan stepped out of the meeting room with a giant self-satisfied smile on his face as his secretary followed his course enthusiastically yelling encouragement, earning a few startled and amused looks from the passerby.
"I knew you could do it, Mr.Min. You were amazing. Yoongi couldn't even compare!"
Sahan paused and looked around the hallway, making sure there weren't any prospective listeners in the vicinity before he looked back to his secretary. "Is it?"
"Yes! I am now almost a hundred percent sure that you are going to win this company!" Jaehwa declared, chest puffed up proudly. He fought hard to contain a smile. Clearing his throat, he asked, "Is that so?"
"Very much so! Just be patient, Mr.Min. Victory shall be ours."
"Isn't it too early to say that?" A familiar low voice echoed through the hallway and the former duo turned back to be met with the elder of the two heirs with his beloved secretary by his side. Min Yoongi strolled up to them with his secretary, a condescending smile upon their faces as they eyed the former pair. Jaehwa didn't care to hold back the look of displeasure on her face.
"I heard you went all out today. Very unusual." He commented.
Suddenly his eyebrows rose in realization, " No way..." Yoongi bit his lower lip with a thoughtful expression on his face, bringing a hand to caress his chin. "Are you feeling threatened by us?"
Sahan did not deem the comment worthy of a reply but his secretary did not feel the same. She was triggered.
"Of course not! Mr.Min just did what he had always done. That is, be the best at his job. It is not unusual at all." Jaehwa retorted.
Yoongi's eyes snapped up to her, his dark eyes were so intense that they made her freeze. He tilted his head. "Is that so?" He asked softly leaning forward until he was so close to her face that their noses almost touched. "Are you sure it was all him?"
That shut her up. She gulped down nervously, not having an appropriate response as she averted her eyes from his intense stare and Yoongi smirked, leaning back. "Let's go secretary."
Seokjin nodded their way as he followed Yoongi out of the hallway, away from the rival team. He fell in step with the younger man's strides as he posed a question, "Is that the girl you told me to watch out for?"
Yoongi nodded a serious look in his eyes, "It is. Don't underestimate her Hyung." He looked up to him.
"That kid knows what she's doing."
