Kim Seokjin had a pleasant smile on his face. He felt a sense of personal accomplishment at the fact that it was not a forced one. It was an easy smile, the one that he offered politely to strangers or even friends he had grown out of touch with. But it wasn't the gesture in itself that made him proud, but the person who it was aimed to.
Park Eunsoo had noticed the difference. Something in her told him that she too was finally coming to the realization that he had come to a little while ago.
Kim Seokjin had moved on. ParK Eunsoo didn't affect him like she did before.
She heaved a deep breath as she pursed her lips, fighting to keep her tears at bay. "Is she pretty?" she asked.
Seokjin thought about it. It was not a trick question but answering it was trickier than he had expected. Did he find Jaehwa pretty?
Well... There were many things Seokjin found interesting about Jaehwa but her visuals were the least of his concerns. Of course, no one could rival him in that department. Not even Holo.Co's renowned Han Jaehwa.
A smile lit up on his lips when he thought about what Jaehwa would have to say about that. She would passionately disagree with him about it. Maybe even go as far as trying to prove herself.
She didn't have to. He already knew the answer.
His reminiscent silence must have been enough of an answer for Eunsoo hung her head down in disappointment. "I see."
Seokjin snapped back to reality. He didn't bother to explain anything to her. For now, the only thing left for him to do was to end it once and for all, tell her what he had to say, and find some closure to his past. To close that chapter of his life and move on.
He offered her a smile, "I just want to say that I forgive you Eunsoo. I have moved on and I'm never coming back." He sighed. "So let's just go our ways. Let's just live our lives and hope that we never meet each other again. You were once an important part of my life but now... Things changed. So I should go..."
Eunsoo's fingers clenched to a fist but she didn't say anything. She only nodded her head unable to utter a single word. She stood there reveling in the silence as she calmly tried to collect herself and finally when she barely managed to do it, she looked up to him. " Alright. I- I see that you really have changed... Well, good luck. Enjoy your life."
Eunsoo was many things but not a fool. She knew when to know that she had lost the battle. She should have known it was a lost cause. After all, it was she who broke his trust. She had been shameless. She'd admit it. However, she missed him too much to care. But...
Some mistakes could never be erased.
"Thank you," Seokjin replied. He didn't wait any longer and walked away leaving her behind, just like that, away from a past that he never wanted to look back to again except to learn from his mistakes. He smiled. Finally, he could absolutely be free.
Fishing out his phone from his pocket, he dialed a number as he strolled away. Not long after, a disgruntled female voice answered from the end of the phone and he grinned.
"What is wrong with you?! How dare you wake me up when I am trying to get my beauty sleep--"
Seokjin frowned, checking his watch. "Don't tell me you forgot, Jay." He warned, making sure to tone up the disapproval in his voice.
"Forget what? There are abso- wait, wait. Oh, shoot! The V and Jimin concert at 5! Oh my god, I totally forgot!"
"You forgot?! I'm so disappointed right now." Jin chided, shaking his head. "How could you forget about it like that? Did you know how hard I tried to get the tickets?"
