Jaehwa's brows drew together as a frustrated puff of breath left her lips. All she had was a question in her mind. Why?
Why did he apologize to Jieun? It couldn't have been because of her...
Then, did he really regret what he had done? Or was it all another one of his ploys?
She could never be sure. He was a manipulator. A fox who knew how to trick one with just a look from his eyes. A dangerous man. She could never trust him. She should never get herself involved with him ever again, but why? Why couldn't she get him out of her mind?
"What's so wrong about it Han Jaehwa? All they do is lie and cheat in the end. So what's wrong if I make that process a little faster?"
It sounded as if something was going on with him.
Jaehwa's eyes snapped open. Whatever his intentions were, she would never let him manipulate her ever again. She will never fall into his traps.
But then why does it bother her so much?
"I don't know. Maybe because he likes someone else?"
She froze. A scowl formed on her lips. No! That was certainly not what was bothering her. Not even one bit. She had nothing to do with him or the fact that he likes someone else. It meant nothing to her. Definitely not.
Jaehwa's frustration was visible in the way she walked, forcefully stomping her foot in front of the other, so hard that they created quite a ruckus against the floor as her hair bounced up and down with each step. However, soon she froze at the center of the hallway. For she had spotted just the man of her agony at the end of the hallway, walking towards her. Seokjin hadn't seen her first as his eyes were trained on the phone in his hands but soon his eyes snapped up and he stilled at the center of the hallway. Jaehwa stared at him frozen in fear, internally panicking at the inevitable confrontation. So did he. Neither of them dared move. They just stood there staring at each other in silence.
Finally, Seokjin moved. Looking back down at the phone, he took a U-turn and leisurely walked back the way he came from. Before too long he had vanished around the corner, leaving Jaehwa hanging there. Jaehwa's jaw hung open in disbelief.
Did he- did he just ignore me?
"How dare he?!" Jaehwa spat out suddenly feeling quite infuriated. She didn't know why but she was highly annoyed at the fact that he had ignored her. She was the one who was supposed to be ignoring him. "Hmph!" I can do the same.
Jaehwa whirled around, her hair whipping around at the force she had turned and stomped back the way she came from with a glower on her face.
Perhaps if she had stayed, she would have seen the very same man peek back from around the same corner he had vanished to. At the display of her annoyance, he let out a contented puff of breath before he went on his way with a smile playing at his lips as genuine as it had ever been.
Seokjin knew that Jieun wasn't the only one he had to apologize to. He knew what he had to do but it was not now. He wasn't ready to face her yet. Besides, he didn't want to. That girl who was a solid three years younger than him had dared slap him. Of course, Seokjin knew, just as Jungkook had said, that he absolutely deserved it. It was a wake-up call but that doesn't mean he was pleased to have her slap him in the face. He needed to have his revenge. He always did. So that's what he did.
For the next few days, he kept completely ignoring her, not failing to catch the utter look of annoyance on her face every time he did so. Often he would bump into her own purpose just to ignore her. Of course, he couldn't have her forget about him that easily. In case she tried to ignore his presence, he specifically made sure she had no choice but to pay attention to him.
