"I guess this is the end."
Jaehwa muttered softly as she looked down at the ground, hands folded at the back with a sad smile on her lips.
"Yeah," Seokjin replied softly, his eyes trained on her yet feeling the same way as she did. No one had wanted the retreat to end but each had their own private lives to tend to. Their brief, happy retreat from their everyday lives would nevertheless remain an everlasting memory. After all, as someone had said, all good things must come to an end.
"It was fun not being rivals for once. I really enjoyed it." Jaehwa looked up to him, pursing her lips. Seokjin maintained his gaze. "Yeah."
Breathing out a final resigned sigh, Jaewha reluctantly walked back, still not willing to turn around. "Well..." She shot him a quick wave. "See you on Monday, Rival."
"See you." He uttered not moving as he watched her take hesitant steps back. She nodded her head as if to say it was her last goodbye. Seokjin nodded back in return.
Jaehwa paused. She bit her lips, nose scrunched up as if she was deeply contemplating something. All of a sudden, she ran back to him. Seokjin's eyes widened in mild surprise. Coming to a stop near him, she stood on her tiptoes until she was close to his ear. Trying hard not to let the close proximity of him distract her, she whispered, "I have a surprise for you in the group chat."
"A surprise?" He asked, raising his eyebrows and Jaehwa smiled as she nodded her head in reply.
"Alright," Jaehwa called, clasping her hands together. "Bye. This time, for real." He smiled, the familiar mischief in it making itself known at her antics. "Bye."
Finally, she ran back calling out for her best friend who was supposed to be giving her a ride back home. "Jieun, wait for me!"
Seokjin stood watching her form retreat into the distance as the soft smile playing at his lips remained. "Falling already?"
"You can't do that yet, Han Jaehwa," He mused, stroking the tip of his chin. "Afterall, we have a lot of things to do... thought you were going to be a tough case." He muttered himself, pulling out his phone from the pockets of his trousers. "Let's see."
He scrolled to the group chat of Holo.Co and opened the chat. The next instant, his cocky grin dropped, for in the chat was a very familiar picture of himself staring back at him in utter terror and agony, being a complete literal mess. The photo he had deleted yesterday. H-How?

"Zut! Comment ose-t-elle!"
Jin yelled at his phone face flushed in embarrassment and anger as it coursed through his blood. He clenched his fists so hard that his veins pulsed as his face contorted to that of pure rage. Jerking his head up to the sky, he screamed startling a few crows on the nearby trees causing them to let out shrill indignant squawks.
"HAN JAEHWA, YOU SLY BRAT!!!"
Back in Jieun's car, Jaehwa smirked as she examined the now-infamous picture of Kim Seokjin still securely sitting on her trash folder. Leaning against the door window she looked up to the sky.
"Enemies can't be friends Kim Seokjin."

Kim Seokjin watched the gloomy skies as it poured down heavy droplets of rain that splashed over the asphalt. The sky was a mixture of melancholic greys and whites with no signs of the yellow rays of the sun, reminiscent of the tumult of emotions inside of him. The rain continued its constant downpour and the coldness of it chilled his heart. Yet, he stood there watching the water drop and splatter on the ground as the repressed memories of the past slowly seeped in just like the chill of the rain.
He thought the cold would numb the pain. It didn't.
"Do you love the rain?"
Seokjin looked towards the girl who had snuggled up to his arm watching the pouring rain outside along with him through the mist clouded glass windows. The girl had her warm amber eyes trained on his dark brown ones. Squinting his eyes, he bit his lips in contemplation. "The rain?"
"Yes," She affirmed, nodding her head.
"I do," He replied softly, gazing back at the rain.
"Why?"
A soft smile graced his lips, "Because... I met you on a rainy day."
She beamed, visibly feeling content at his reply as she looked back to the rain. "Me too."
"Really?" He pressed.
"Mm." She hummed in assurance.
"I clearly remember a certain someone cursing the entire world the other day just because her favorite shoes got drenched in the rain." He stated certain mischief creeping into his tone.
"Did I? I don't remember that at all!" She replied, suppressing a smirk as he chuckled.
"Sure, you don't. I guess you have what they call selective amnesia."
"Maybe," She confirmed giggling as he joined in. Their laughter blended and rang through the room.
"Hahahahaha..."
Seokjin felt the presence of a shade above him and he snapped his head up to see a yellow umbrella extended above his head. He looked down to find the familiar form of his rival standing beside him. Upon meeting his gaze, Jaehwa cleared her throat like an intellectual. "I know, I know. I'm so generous, extending my help even to my enemy. No need to thank me."
Seokjin couldn't suppress a grin. Jaehwa nudged his arm, "Need help getting to your car?"
He looked to her umbrella and back at the harsh downpour. With a final resigned exhale, he said. "Let's go."
Stepping out from the Holo.Co building together, Seokjin stepped into the rain with Jaehwa sharing her umbrella. The fat droplets fell heavily onto the umbrella creating a loud drumming pandemonium above them. The sky was still as grey as ever, except for this time, maybe he could see the slight yellow rays barely peeking out from behind the thick clouds. The rain will end soon. It will be gone. At least, he hoped so.
"Do you love the rain?"
The delicate voice of Jaehwa was barely audible above the harsh noise over their heads but Seokjin had heard the question.
"Do I love the rain?" He asked as if wanting to confirm the question though he needed no confirmation.
"Yeah," Jaehwa replied, wide-curious eyes trained on the man beside her who had his deep dark eyes fixed on the grey skies and the downpour.
"No."
Seokjin's eyes gently drifted over the sky to the landscape before it landed on her.
"I hate it."
