She'd be willing to help you whenever you're struggling to get a task done or figure something out. She's tough and expects things done right, but that doesn't mean she would let you struggle or expect you to know how to do everything—especially if you were a lower-ranked officer, or a Maquis getting used to Starfleet technology, and or working with alien technology. She'd make sure to help everyone get on the same page and make sure everyone knew what they were doing.

She'd be happy to hear your opinions - sometimes even asking for them before making a decision. She values your insights and knows that sometimes you see things from a different perspective than she does.

After some time, your work relationship would develop into a genuine friendship. You'd start hanging out off duty and spending time together on your days off. As a result, your work relationship would grow stronger because you'd learn how one another thinks and acts in certain situations.

Just because you're friends, don't think you can goof off while on duty. B'Elanna is strict and wants to get the job done. You respect that and honour her authority, only ever relaxing and letting your guard down if it's a slow day or if you're on a break.

You would be her go-to person for helping her with tasks. Your knowledge and skills are respected and known by all of the engineering crew, but B'Elanna would especially notice them. She'd compliment you and recommend you to the Captain for jobs and missions.

On more than one occasion, you'd have to physically drag B'Elanna from her work to get some food into her. You'd know how devoted she is and how passionate she is about her job. And you respect that. But that doesn't mean she doesn't have to take care of herself, and you're there to make sure she does. While she may act annoyed for you interrupting her work and causing her to stop, she does truly appreciate how much you care.

She'd do the same for you if you were ever sucked into a project or task for a long time. She'd sometimes even use your own speeches against you - an affectionate mock of what you'd tell her when she's overworking herself.
