You sang along to the Christmas music that was playing through the speakers of your quarters as you finished decorating the main room. Spock would be home any minute, and you couldn't wait for him to see the place. You had gone all out, putting many decorations around the room. Not too many, though. Just enough to make the place feel festive and cheery.
When Spock entered the room a few minutes later, you stopped your singing and grinned at him. "What do you think?" you asked, eager for his answer.
Spock's eyebrows raised as he took in the room. He looked around and a faint smile spread on his face. "When you told me you were going to decorate, I did not think it would be to this extent."
You laughed. "I may have gone a little overboard."
He shook his head and approached you. "I like it. The decorations are pleasing."
You kissed his lips softly. "I'm glad you like them."
Spock tilted his head. "What is this music?"
"It's classic Christmas carols," you replied. "You like it?"
"It is interesting. Do you like it?"
You nodded your head slowly. "I love it. I love singing along to them, too."
"Will you teach me?" he asked, surprising you.
Your eyes widened. "Really?"
Spock dipped his chin in a slight nod. "It might, as you would say, put me in the holiday spirit."
You grinned. "I would love to teach you. What should we start with? Hm, maybe White Christmas. Even though we'll never get snow here on the Enterprise."
Spock smiled softly.
"I have a song book somewhere," you told him. "Hang on." You went to the bedroom and rooted through your closet. You found the song book, old and ripped in some places, and brought it back to the main room. You handed it to Spock with White Christmas open.
"Computer, play White Christmas," you requested.
As the music started, you smiled at him. You begun to sing along to the music, and Spock listened for a few verses to hear the tune and tempo. Once he figured it out, he started to sing along. His voice melded together with yours, filling the room with a beautiful harmony.
You couldn't stop the wide smile from spreading across your face as you sung. You looped your arm through Spock's and leaned your head against his shoulder. He looked at you briefly, smiled, then looked back at the lyrics on the pages before him. You went through several other songs after you finished White Christmas. Spock seemed to pick up the tune of each one quickly, and he sung along with you shortly after they began. You felt so at home and at peace. The love of your life was there with you singing Christmas carols and the multi-coloured lights on the tree twinkled around the two of you. There was nothing that could have made that moment any better.
