"How do I look?" Benjamin asked as he exited his bedroom in a full Santa Claus outfit. He even had a fake beard glued to his face and a pillow stuffed into his red jacket to make him look overweight.
You took one look at him and burst out laughing. "You look great!" you exclaimed.
                              He smiled widely. "You think?"
You nodded quickly. "Definitely. You'll be the life of the party."
He went to you and wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you close to him. He smiled. "My getup wouldn't be complete without my helpful elf."
You grinned and kissed his cheek. "Always eager to serve."
"We better get going," Benjamin said, looking over to the red sack leaning on the wall that was filled to the brim of presents.
You smiled and linked your arm through his. "Lead the way, Santa."
He grinned and the two of you made your way out of his quarters and to Quark's.
This year, to celebrate the holidays, Benjamin had organized a party for all of the humans on board the station. Quark had graciously offered to host it (in hopes of there being lots of purchasing of drinks and snacks).
You and Benjamin entered Quark's and you grinned as you took in the place. Holiday decorations were everywhere: colourful lights were strung across the bar, along the railings, and across bulkheads; mini artificial Christmas trees and small menorahs were sitting in the centres of the tables; and a large red arm chair sat up near the Dabo tables.
"Ho ho ho!" Benjamin exclaimed, grinning widely at the crowded room. "Happy holidays everything."
"The place looks great!" you said to Julian and Miles as they approached, both wearing ugly Christmas sweaters.
Julian smiled and nodded. "Thank Quark. He helped us put it all up."
"Any goodies in there for me?" Miles asked Benjamin with a cheeky smile.
                              "Maybe," Benjamin replied.
Julian tsked. "I don't know, Chief. You've been pretty naughty this year."
Miles scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Yeah right. As if you've been any better."
You laughed and gently tugged on Benjamin's arm. "Come on."
The two of you went to the red chair. Benjamin sat in it and hauled the sack of presents onto his lap. He had gifts for everyone who RSVPed for the party—mostly it was humans and senior staff, though there were a few Bajorans.
You helped call names and pass out the presents. The gifts weren't anything elaborate, but you and Benjamin had done your best to make them as personal as possible. It made you happy to see so many people celebrating the holidays this far from Earth. While some Earth customs had gone out of style, you were thankful that certain holidays like Christmas and Hanukah had not. While some humans weren't religious anymore, the holidays were just a time to spend time with loved ones and be grateful for what you have. You always loved the holidays, and you loved them even more now that you were celebrating them with your love and your close friends on the station.
"This last one is for you," Benjamin said, pulling out a present from the bottom of the bag.
You smiled. "Thank you, Ben—I mean, Santa. I have your present back in my quarters."
He waved a hand. "You can give it to me later."
You nodded and unwrapped the gift. It was a physical copy of a book by a Bajoran author. You smiled and briefly skimmed the description, though you knew that it would be something of interest to you. Benjamin knew the exact types of books you enjoyed, so it was really no surprise that he had found a Bajoran book—translated into English—for you to read.
You smiled widely at him. "Thank you, Ben. It sounds really good. I'll start reading it right away."
He smiled and took your hand in his. "Major Kira helped me pick it out. She says this author is really good."
"Thank you." You kissed his cheek. "Merry Christmas, Ben."
                              "Merry Christmas, Y/N."
