the next day

"as you said you feel like something is always going to happen?"

mingi nodded

"bad things?"

nodded again.

mingi is currently in his therapy session, and it's a lot different this time around. seonghwa got asked to leave the room, see if that would change anything, and for a while it didn't. but after a few colored pages, mingi was ready to talk.

"do you know what the word paranoid means?" his therapist, chaeyoung, is a very nice and soft spoken lady. she's still pretty young, no older than hongjoong or seonghwa.

"no?" mingi responded

"so being paranoid means always feeling like something bad is going to happen, to put it short. and you know you have anxiety, that can be a big part of it. but i think we should talk some more just to make sure we don't have to run tests, okay?" chaeyoung spoke softly and slowly so that mingi could understand

mingi nodded and watch chaeyoung replace his piece of paper with a new one. mingi got diagnosed after the first two appointments. the parents figured he had it, so when chaeyoung recommended a doctor to go to for testing they were relieved that they got some kind of answer.

"i want you to draw out your dreams, my sister did this with san when he was having bad dreams a few years ago. do you remember that?" mingi had to think about it, but yeah, he remembered.

"awesome, so draw what you've been dreaming about. and i'll play the music and keep talking, okay?" chaeyoung plays soft music for mingi to relax to, he says that things are too quiet and it bring him obvious distress

"so how come you told yunho about your dreams before your mama and papa?"

"he said he'd give me his cookie after dinner"

"mama and papa bribed you with everything, so i know that's not the full truth" chaeyoung laughed

"i don't like seeing yuyu hyung cry. same with my other brothers, they're all so sad recently" mingi pouted while focusing on his drawing.

"mama and papa haven't cried in front of you?" chaeyoung asked

"papa kinda did"

"is that when you told him you were uncomfy?" mingi nodded. it's hard talking to a little kid about mental health, especially when they don't want to talk about it.

"are you done with your drawing?" chaeyoung smiled

mingi nodded and dropped his crayon, letting chaeyoung take the paper.

"okay... who are these people?" she pointed to the two people colored in with gray crayon

"my old mommy and daddy" mingi said

"do you remember them?"

"sometimes... i don't know what they look, but i remember... some stuff" mingi shrugged
