Two gunshots. Two gunshots was all it took for the world to change. Just a few hours ago, the two people who were currently running towards the building were happy people. People who had been enjoying each other's company. Both with a third person who was made to go into that room. The room that had the acting head of SHIELD in. The one where it all changed, and no one questioned it. That was where they were now. They ran to it, and saw two people come out bleeding. One held her wound in her shoulder. The other was being supported by a male, she had a bullet in her gut. And while both were bleeding, the younger one was the worst.

"No. No. No. No. No." The boy was panicking when he arrived. Eyes wide and both concerned and alert. The young woman was laid gently on the floor.

"Hey-hey. Hey, look at me." His words were quick, coming out so fast that they may have been too fast for anyone to properly hear what he was saying. Which explained why the woman in question only groaned as she squeezed her eyes shut. But she still took the boy's hand in his. Her blood coated his hands.

"Katie. Focus on me, ok? Just look at me." He tried it again. His voice shook with fear.  His bottom lip started to tremble slightly. Tears starting to come to his eyes.

"Aaron." The male's voice broke him out of his little world. He looked up, meeting the eyes of Francis, "I need to get our people out of here. I need you to take care of her, ok?" He asked, the boy nodding without even thinking. He looked down at Katie, a small smile on his face, "Stay strong for me baby. Ok?" He moved a piece of her hair away. Before he took off.

"Francis..." Katie tried to get out but wheezing at the end.

"He's getting our people out. Right now, though, just focus on yourself ok? Can you heal, why aren't you healing?" He rushed out. He placed his free hand on her forehead to try and give some comfort.

"It runs out after a while." A familiar voice answered, he turned to see Jemma knelt near him, "Your healing factor isn't complete, it's why it isn't instant. It slows down to the point of nonexistence." She told him. His panic flared to a point that he didn't even know that it could reach. Instantly, he removed his hand from her forehead and to his trousers. Trying to find something, anything to get through to a vein. Jemma watched her friend as he cursed and went to another place of his clothing, nothing. And again, and again and again. But still, always. Nothing.

"No. N-No. No." He was starting to break down, his breath quickening as he squeezed Katie's hand as tight as he could. Everything seemed to be moving on around him. People being moved and words from their now bleeding leader. But for him, it was just him and Katie.

"Come on. Come on. There-there has to be something. There's always something." His words came out quieter this time. He looked back for Jemma, only to see that she was gone.

"Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck." His words, to himself anyway, seemed to just blur. His vision starting to blur. But he could still make out the fact that Katie was struggling.

"Aaron. Aaron." He heard a voice call to him, but he shut his eyes. "Aaron." The voice called again. Still, he didn't open them. Almost as if he could just open his eyes and this just be a bad dream. And Katie would be there, calming him down.

"Do you want to die?" The voice asked again. He let himself have a big gulp in as he met the eyes of Lincoln. Who didn't even let him reply, knowing that in his state of mind what the answer would be. A hand grabbed his shoulder and pulled him back. Away from his dying sister. He immediately tried to get back to her. But Lincoln was there, grabbing his body and yanking him back, despite his cries and efforts.

"Aaron, there's a Quinjet! We need to get Jiaying out!" Lincoln yelled, Aaron snapped back as he looked up to see one turning in their direction. His instincts kicked in. And he was then running with the three.
