"Something on your mind?" Daisy sighed, having actually liked the silence that had occurred on their journey back to the lighthouse.

"Well, my dead mums in the back. So, you know."

"That's fair. There's more to it, though. Like I said, only me. No one else is listening." Daisy sighed as she sped the car up a little, wanting more than ever to get back.

"Are you always able to annoy people this well?" The comment got a laugh out of Simon.

"You and May taught us pretty well," he said.

"Yeah? How am I feeling?" She asked, purposely trying to hide her emotions. That didn't go to plan. She hid them, that wasn't the issue. No, the issue was Simon.

"Conflicted. He said something, didn't he? There was a silence after all on your end. Something was said that you didn't want me to hear."

"It's called a private conversation. You were butting in." Simon was blunt with his next comment.

"Just tell me. Get it off your chest. Act like you're speaking out loud. I'll probably be blipped off soon when we're done anyway." Daisy looked at him for a moment as she silently debated it. Fuck it.

"He asked me who it was for. I only said, "a friend"; but he was able to guess who it was." Simon nodded to prompt her to continue, "He guessed that it was for Aaron. Part of it was. Then he went on. Asked if it was for....For my brother."

Oh.

"Ok....What did you say to that?" Daisy didn't answer for a moment. She kept her gaze out the window. But Simon saw it start to cloud a little. As she tried to kill that feeling. Tried to deny it. Tried to ignore the images her mind placed whenever she thought about the answer, she gave him.

"Yes. I told him it was." Simon slowly nodded, now realising what was breaking her down internally. The fact that she had said yes. That she'd said it out loud. To someone they barely knew. Maybe, in her mind, it was easier that way. To say it to someone that didn't fully know the context. Someone who only saw the last names being a match and made an assumption.

"....If it helps. He looks at you the same." Daisy scoffed. Even now, they both seemed to still deny it.

"You speak for the dead?"

"Whoa, whoa. Ok, he's not dead. He has them. They care for him too. Just like you do." Daisy stopped the van, pulling the keys out of the ignition again. Clicking her tongue as she spent a minute thinking about a response. She decided to just go with the most basic one. The most basic pressing issue at current time.

"Can you take the van and hide it somewhere?" Simon knew what she was trying to do. He still nodded , despite knowing what it was. He took the keys, watching Daisy as she went up the ramp of the Quinjet to try and radio back to base.

"Son of a bitch." He cursed as he started the van up, driving it away. He knew she'd wait. Still, he didn't want to keep her waiting.

"I'm still trying to get to them. Nothing is coming back, though." Daisy informed him as he entered the Quinjet. He nodded as she came to be her co-pilot.

"Alright, I'll take over here. You just focus on comms. How's that sound?" She nodded, the two swapping seats. He flicked a few switches, pulling the lever back slowly. Just like that, they were back in the air.

"You know how to fly?"

"Sort of? Virgil taught me a bit. I could just about do it."

"Well, let's hope 'just about' is enough."
