"She's reckless, and dangerous!" Davis yelled.
"She deliberately disobeyed your orders." Piper added.
"She seriously compromised our chances of getting home! We are almost out of food, and we don't even know how many more jumps we can do." Davis and Piper both continued their complaints. Aaron was sitting in the chair behind Daisy as Lisa stood next to him. The two just watched the "discussion".
"Fitz is the mission! We didn't come this far to just give up. Cowards..." Jemma muttered the last part, but it was still heard by everyone; Daisy in particular.
"Enough! Everybody stand down and take a breath. Simmons is right, Fitz is the mission." Daisy turned to Jemma; the turn alone told the British woman that she wasn't off the hook, "But I'm the mission leader; that was my call to make, not yours."
"Whose side are you on?" Jemma questioned. That one just infuriated Daisy more. Now she was finally realising how much resilience Katie must've had in their arguments to hold it together.
"You know damn well whose side we are all on. We went to a fire planet for you; we've followed every breadcrumb, trying to find him. And now, we are at the end of the galaxy, because of a tiny word we can't even read."
"I told you what it said! –"
"We need to take a step back, Jemma. We can't save Fitz if we can't save ourselves." Jemma scoffed, "We're going home. Hopefully we can make it there."
"Go if you want, but I'm staying." Daisy turned back to her.
"Permission denied; and if you have a problem with that, I'll have you locked up until we get there."
"I'd like to see you try." Before Daisy could answer, the ship shook a little as everyone looked above to try and identify what the noise was.
"Greetings! Welcome to Naro Atzia! I am Pritorious Bryce, your duly sanctioned customs officer. Your spacecraft has been docked, and I'm requesting permission to come aboard for your welcoming inspection." The man who said this was small but chubby. For the most part, he looked friendly enough....Although, most people did on their first go around.
Ah, that Grant Ward; the amount of times Aaron had both thought and used that quote from him many times in his journey. If the guy was useful for one thing, it was some truth amongst the many lies that he had sold them.
"That won't be necessary." Daisy tried to deny the welcoming committee; only for it not to go the way she wanted it to go.
"Not sure I understand."
Daisy reiterated, "Change of planes, we won't be visiting your planet. Um – But thank you. It looks......Lovely."
Bryce cleared his throat, "Perhaps I wasn't clear; the forms have been prepared and you're already in the system." Great.
"Ok, well then just take us out of the system; then we'll be on our way." That did not get the response she wanted.
"Once you are in the system, you are in the system." The man seemed to be vibrating with some sort of anger, "As I said, there are forms; prepared forms. I don't like the rules, but they must be enforced." Daisy nodded, realising that they didn't have any other choice.
"Fine, come aboard." The channel closed as they all shared a look between them.
"Maybe he inspected Fitz's ship." They all looked at Jemma, "We can at least ask, can't we? He could be so close." If Daisy wouldn't admit it, Aaron would; she could've had a point.
"You'll be on your way in no time. Please surrender your weapons per section...." Aaron missed the number and the rest of the little man's little speech. Jemma and Piper gave theirs over. Bryce looked at the other three in the room.
