"Hey." Aaron greeted as he walked into the lab, Skye returned the greeting while Fitz and Ward were stuck in their own little world.
"Sorry Fitz. It's close. But not quite right." Ward said as he laid the pistol down.
"Really? Agent Coulson said it's fine." Fitz replied, with a confused tone.
"It's an ounce too heavy." Ward told him.
"An ounce? Seriously?" Skye asked him in disbelief.
"It's the difference between success and failure. When you're on a rooftop with fifth teen mile an hour winds. Your target is five hundred yards away-" Ward started to explain before Fitz said.
"Yeah but we do have a rifle." Making Ward stop and look at him before ordering him to lose the ounce.
"You have a point Fitz. Why not just use a rifle?" Aaron said in agreement.
"Exactly. I'm Agent Grant Ward. I can shoot the legs off of a flee from five hundred yards. As long as it's not windy." Fitz imitated Ward, and quite well. Skye laughed, while Aaron smiled lightly at it.
"That's a sound I haven't heard in a bit." Fitz said as he cocked the gun and let it down on the table.
"Yeah well. You wouldn't if you'd been living in Ward's doghouse." Skye told him.
"You made the rounds, apologized to us all. What more can he ask?" Fitz asked.
"I don't know. I have been busting my ass, memorizing every SHIELD protocol manual, following every order. 'Yes, sir' 'No, sir'. I even let them tag me like a stray dog." Skye complained while showing the pair the bracelet, "I mean, I know I lied to you guys, but I was trying to protect my boyfriend." Skye told them.
"Already forgiven." Aaron said, Skye smiled slightly at him for the words.
"You know, we all make mistakes." Fitz followed up with, "Who cares about your ex-boyfriend?" Fitz then said.
"It's not like I'm comparing Ward to Miles, but at least with Miles, I didn't have to worry about passive-aggressive stuff. There were no mind games." Skye told the pair as she stood to face them, "We spoke the same language, you know?" Skye asked them.
"Yeah, Yeah, a bit like we do" Fitz said as he moved his finger between them.
"Totally. You and Simmons are so tight, it's like you're psychically linked." Skye said as she turned to Aaron, who nodded slowly.
"No, you...No. Actually, no. I don't think so." Fitz said, regarding him and Simmons.
"So, Ward was here? Let me guess, the night-night pistol again?" Simmons asked as she walked into the lab, setting her tablet down.
"Said it was off by an ounce." Aaron told her, who scoffed, "Of course he did." Before she too imitated Ward. Proving Skye's point about them being linked. Aaron and Skye shared a look before Simmons started, "I'm Agent Grant Ward, and I could rupture your spleen with my left pinkie – blindfolded." Simmons said, Skye laughed again, Aaron let out a snort this time.
Ward then re-entered the lab, he asked what was funny when he saw everyone's faces. Simmons put the blame on Fitz, saying that he had left a round in, and that the problem was fixed. Ward then thanked her and left, again. As he left, he reminded them that they were needed for a mission. They all looked at each other and resumed their laughter/smiling.
"Troops Leader's name was Adam Cross. Apparently, he said he heard something in the woods, went to check it out. That's where the electrostatic anomaly occurred." Coulson informed them as they walked to a camp site.
