They really were going back to where it all started. To where they all changed and ended up where they were. Cybertech, that name still got a reaction out of Aaron whenever he had heard it. The tension in his hands, the bubble in his stomach that seemed to be there. It had been years since he had heard at. And yet, still it got a reaction from him.
"The last time anyone saw Gravitonium in this timeline, it was at Cybertek's lab. Which happens to be the same company that built Deathlock's leg." Daisy explained to Mack the last part, quickly getting him back in the loop.
"Now we're talking." For once, Mack's optimism was working. Aaron actually felt some of it with him as well. He knew to be careful with that feeling though. To caution it. Being happy for him only meant a lot of pain was going to come after. So, he tried to keep it minimal.
"Cybertech was dissolved, Quinn's vanished, Reina's dead. Gravitonium is still MIA." May listed off their issues. Always leave for Melinda May to drag you back down to reality.
"Yeah, but we found the names of the scientists who worked under Ian Quinn. So..."
"Whose Ian Quinn?" Deke questioned, as he walked into the room, "Rich guy, bad guy. What are you doing here?" He asked the man.
"Oh, I'm not a part of the club? I'm sorry, I'll just go get my things and I'll go grab a cheeseburger." He said sarcastically as he walked up the stairs. Aaron let out a low whistle at the comeback.
"Have a seat, Deke. I invited him. He's seen more Gravitonium than any of us. He may have some incentive that we don't." Daisy just decided to roll with Coulson's explanation as to his reasoning for inviting Deke.
"Ok, so this is Quinn's Gravitonium guy, Doctor Joseph Getty."
"Also dead. We chased that lead. " Daisy was quick to interrupt, "Right, but here's where it gets interesting. All of Cybertek's scientists are now dead within the past two years. And all of their death certificates were signed by one man." She tapped on the pad again, showing the image of a man, "Murray Jacobson."
"What, so you think it's a cover up? That they're still alive?" Fitz doubted Daisy's theory but was still willing to hear it out.
"Yeah, it smells like it. But this photos all I can find on him"
"You ran facial recognition?" May's question got an affirmative from Daisy, she explained that she found his face pinged with multiple aliases. The most recent being a real estate agent. Coulson told them that it was the one they needed to talk to. May turned to Coulson, softly asking if they were in fact going to go outside.
"Yeah, they're kind of sparing no expense looking for you guys." Deke warned them. Coulson handled it, telling him that they'd go under the cover of night. But, it was ultimately a risk they'd have to take in order to find doctor Getty. Which would get them a lead on Gravitonium.
"Yeah, I'm going with you." May checked that Daisy was sure, seeing as how she'd previously rejected the idea of going on any mission outside to prevent casualties, "I can't really destroy the world without my powers."
"I can take care of myself." Daisy confirmed that he could indeed do that, she just wanted some fresh air in her words.
"Right, well. Fresh air for all of us." Deke said as he stood up, he was quickly told to sit back down by Coulson. Saying that he needed the man to stay there and see if he could help Fitz. Much to the man's distaste.
"Dick even has a fancy car." Aaron mused as he leant between the front two seats that housed Coulson and Daisy. His eyes were squinting at the man's ride. It was small in height. Aaron's mind was too busy racking over how in the hell he'd fit inside that.
