"Rebecca." The woman looked to whoever called her name, Melinda May was the one who had called it.
"We need you." She said, moving before the other woman had a chance. Rebecca quickly got to her feet and followed after the older woman.
"What's going on?" She asked as alarms then started to blare as well. She had to jog a little at one point to keep up with May's quickening pace.
"There's been an attack on the UN." Was the answer she received.
"Shit."
As they moved to the BUS, they passed Skye and gave her the not so good news. After they had done that, Skye had immediately shut her laptop and left with Simmons to see the report and find out what was going on.
What Skye found, was a room where Aaron stood on his own as he watched the news, he didn't even look at them in acknowledgement as both herself and Trip had entered the room, "An attack today at the UN left six dead and dozens injured. Many have not been identified. Among the injured, SHIELD's biggest opponent, US Air Force Brigadier, General Glenn Talbot. SHIELD...." Finally, he was pulled away when Skye tapped him on the arm and pointed to Coulson entering the room.
"Sir, that wasn't us, was it?" Trip asked as they shadowed after their boss.
"You even have to ask?" Was Aaron's question as he walked on Skye's left; being the furthest away from Coulson.
"No. This is HYDRA looking for revenge." Coulson said, actually answering Trip's question, "Best guess? Daniel Whitehall had his people impersonate SHIELD to put the world's attention back on us."
"Whitehall knows how to play the board, sneaky son-of-a-bitch." Aaron said as he folded his arms.
"So much for staying in the shadows." Was Skye's comment.
"Somebody bring this from home?" Coulson asked as he held up a mug with a cat on and a sign that read: "I hate Mondays".
"Maria has one like that." Aaron supplied, but Coulson only shook his head; it was just an icebreaker after all with everything going on.
"I want you two scouring government channels. See what we're up against." Coulson ordered; as they left, he called out Skye's name, "This means the alien writing..." She stopped him, knowing what he meant.
"Backburner." She answered, looking to her younger friend who nodded at the order.
"Just until we get this under control." He said, then letting Skye go. He gestured for Aaron to follow him; the boy did dutifully.
Simmons and Bobbi ran into the room, "Just saw the news. We're not responsible for this, are we, sir?" Jemma asked.
"Why does everyone assume this is us? We don't do that type of shit, HYDRA do." Aaron said, getting frustrated with everyone pointing fingers at themselves.
Jemma nodded at her friend, easily picking up on his frustration, "Didn't think so. Just wanted to triple check." Jemma said softly.
Aaron looked back at his friend as they climbed the stairs, "Sorry, Jem." He said, looking a little embarrassed.
"Don't be silly, Aaron. I understand." She said, putting a hand on his shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Marcus Scarlotti was behind the attack. An assassin, almost killed Barton a few years back. Runs a team of mercenaries. Mostly for HYDRA." Bobbi said as she showed them a video of the man putting a knife back in it's place. He looked well equipped gear wise: Armour and gadgets to the brim it seemed.
